Exhaust Experts Please Help.
Hi guys
I have a question for all the exhaust experts out there who can help me with a few issues im facing with my headers/xpipe install.
After installing the the headers and xpipe, i noticed this very strange and annoying rattle combined with a really loud "shooshing" sound... it doesn't sound normal at all. at first i thought that there was a leak and took it back to the shop to have it looked. i was told that the system was fine and that what im hearing is normal.
what makes me say that its not normal is that these sounds come and go. i tried to record it from my phone and well it didnt come out all that great.
thanks in advance.

The shooshing noise might possibly be the sound of the exhaust gases going through the collector of the long tubes. Some designs can have that downside to them

i think you might have some sort of exhaust leak somewhere
you are correct because some headers have slip-fit collectors which cause that sound but i don't think MBH has slip-fit collectors . i have their complete setup and i don't get any shooshing noise .

I've got MBH LTH, Mids and X-pipe and have some rattling sound and vibration coming from the center passenger side of the car. Before I post up pictures and everything I wanted to make sure I get it back in the shop to investigate.

There is an aluminum brace in the middle of the car.
The exhaust will start to rest on it and rattle. Remove it.
The system needs to be tightened after its heat cycled a few times. Check all bolts.

After it is heat cycled a few times and it get's tightened again, will the brace still be an issue? I'd like to keep it on the car if I can.

the brace will most likely always be an issue if it is now . you could always have an exhaust shop make some sort of bracket to possibly hold it up above the brace . i can tell you right now that removing it will do absolutely nothing to the car .

The also have MBH, I have minor rattles from 2 placed. When going over speed bumps, I think the headers are rubbing against the firewall:
The O2 sensor also sometimes rubs on the black plastic under panel:

It's right before the resonator.
I tried spacing mine 1 inch, tightening everything with the system pushed up. Nothing worked, I finally just removed it.
Bo knows: looks like someone didn't follow their jig to spec on those.
