Moving on from C63... any thoughts?!
Folks, sad to say but I think it's time for me to move on. I had a great 3 years with my C63 and enjoyed every second of it
I know there were a few people here moved from the C63 and to 911 C2S (whether 997 or 991) ... any thought and advice?
I test drove it 991 C2S yesterday with PDK... wow, I thought my baby drives and sounds great... but the 991 just simply amazing, awesome car!
They are willing to "trade" mine for $40k (2009 w/ 27K miles), fair deal? They don't want my Dad's CF hood and rims, so if anyone in the area is interested...
And my monthly payment went up only a couple of hundreds which I think it's worth it (just to need to have 1 less nice meal per month in the city )
I love my C63 look (especially after what I have done to it) and its unqiueness/attention... which I don't think I will get from the 991... 911 is a dime and a dozen around here... anyway, do you guys think I should just walk in to the Porsche dealership this weekend and sign the paper? Good trade 'up'? Any other options?
I have been on this forum for years (though I don't post much) but I do browse it almost everyday, sad to leave...
Thanks.

Obviously, it seems that you like the new P car.
Personally, I traded a 997S as I did not like the lack of torque on the Porsche. When you go all out, it does not matter and the P car will be as fast as the C63 but for the rest of the time, it was a big turn off. So my advice is make sure you have driven the 911 long enough to get a feel of how it drives. Not sure the dealer would let you keep it overnight but that would be my recommendation or at least a few hours.
Discussing the trade in is always difficult as it all depends on the deal you are getting on the new car. Getting 40K sounds all right at the wholesale level but make sure you do not pay MSRP on the P car. Please post pics of the new ride when you get it.

The trade in offer seems a bit low although dealerships do have to make their money and have overhead. There is also the loss of trunk space and rear seats to consider from a practical stand point. In the end just go with whatever car you feel will fit you better.

You really cant compare a C2S which when optioned runs around $110k-$120k to a $75k car.
on that note I should have a 2013 991 S in the garage to play with hopefully in this next month when it arrives. The porsche is just all around more refined, the AMG is a jekyll and hyde personality. Both are great cars, just pick the one that fits you the best at your current time. The one thing about AMG is the low down torque you will miss that, porsches and BMW's you have to be in the right gear, the C63 to me just goes from all parts of the rev band.

Thanks for the advises and opinions so far... yeah it's tough, and I've only driven the P car for like 10 mins, you guys are right about the torque at low rev. I do like the P car (but don't love it as the C63), P car is surely seems more refined. The PDK is great especially in the Sport+ mode.
Went into the BMW Dealership, they want about $350 more a month for the new M6 over the C2S (both at about $120k). Audi wants $800 for the R8 V8 and $1600 more per month for the V10 over the C2S (insane).
I have not yet checked out the price for the SL63, but I just don't think it will be near the C2S... but I will find out later on today.
And C2S is about $150 more than my C63 payment per month.
Anyway, the Porsche dealer's offer is $40k for my car and about 5% off MSRP

Oh, you guys really think the 991 is ugly?! I thought they did a great job for this generation. Plus, the 991S won the Motor Trend Best Driver's Car (C63 BS took 2nd ), "Best 911 yet", Top Gear seems to agree with that too.
... And this is another reason why I took a much closer look at the 991 and considering it.

Don't think it'll give you the same rush or that smirk on your face when you start it up like the AMG does. But everyones taste differs I guess. When I almost sold me 09 c63, the only car that I considered was a 013 c63 haha. Gtr was next in line but the feeling of being in a nissan while I drove it turned me off, eventhough its an amazing car. Ever consider a m5? Or an e63?

Im a big P car fan and owner of 3 turbos, I love the look of the new 991S and the PDK definitely is a marvel in the acceleration department. I do think you will at some point miss the TQ from your C63. But the true driveability and involvement of the 991 should offset it. It did win the best driver's car in a recent mag... I think in Motortrend with the CBS right behind in 2nd and neither car had the fastest numbers (but of course its a magazine).
I cant wait for the 991TT--- having gone thru the 996TT, 997.1TT, and now in the most impressive 997.2TT PDK, the 991TT is going to be amazing.

Go with a 997 TT, the 991 Turbo is coming out soon so the 997 prices should be dropping eventually and the 997 Turbos are SO EASY to make MASSIVE HP numbers with.

Obviously have different personalities, but at the end of the day the 991 is easier to drive faster.
And as for your performance downgrade remark you ignore the fact that its 400hp is moving a car that weighs 800-900 lbs less than the C63. The 991 is much easier to get power down than the C63. I have a tune on my C63 and when the porsche gets here I try and get some comparisons.

Having the weight of the engine over the rear axle helps it hook up for sure!

She sounds pretty awesome too
(not as burly as the C63 of course but respectable for having nearly half the displacement)

Really? People have beat this dead horse on the porsche forum, the new 991 if it had the same tires as the GT3 would post nearly identical lap times.

As soon as my kid is out of the car seat, then BOOM!!! Next car, the one that I want to drive for decades.............997(body) 2010 or 2011 911 Gt2. I had been driving a 2007 (991) 911 Carerra
So, I'm curious what my car would be to "trade" for. It seems then you have

A friend of mine traded in his '09 with ~27k miles for $40.5k a few weeks ago. I got $42k for my '10 with ~40k miles around the same time. Both were optioned about the same - black/black, premium 2, leather, etc - no PP. So, the offer you are getting seems reasonable. These were both in the DC area.

I wish I can afford that Stopped by MB dealership last night, they tried to offer me a deal compatible with the 991 for their CLS63(even though it's about $10K less than the 991)...
But I drove a CLS before, it was just a bit too "big" for me, I like the look and especially an AMG... I want to go back to a 2-door, sportier coupe... but that CLS63 (matte grey color) is just so pretty.
