2013 C63 Black Series
Finally my C63 Black Series has a VIN!!!!
Funny. I have heard that the Black Series are notoriously inaccurate as far as time tables, production, etc. My car was scheduled for production Oct.1, and I am thinking, "why dont I have a VIN yet?". Just last week, my dealer replied "you dont get a VIN until the car enters production".
Then today, I get the following email from the dealer, with my car order and VIN attached...
"Hi, at least I can give you some good news before I leave for der Fatherland tomorrow. Your car has completed construction and is awaiting shipment to cross the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Here is your order with all final pricing".
It's already built! YES!!!
For anyone interested, the new 2013 MSRP base is $105,900. Not sure if that is up from 2012 or not.

That is great news, congratulations.
I think, if you are so inclined, there were some prior posts indicating how you can now track the progress of the actual ship it will be transported on.
BTW, the price increase from 2012 was quite reasonable (less than $2,000).

Here you go!
ps. You should reward me for digging up this information by promising to post lots and lots of pics and vids after you get it so I can live vicariously through you guys on this forum until I can get an AMG of my own
Once you get either an order/production # or your VIN (you should be supplied VIN when production is confirmed) go to this site:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do
select "Auto Tracking" and enter your VIN.
Once your vehicle leaves the factory you will be able to see where it is.
The actual boat ride takes between 6 to 10 days for East coast (Halifax 1st then usually Baltimore) The car can sit at the docks in Bremerhaven for up to 3 weeks before loading and starting the trip over. Loading and unloading is done like lightning. They don't like these big ships in port too long
When my C55 came in 2004 and C63 9n 2008 it landed in Halifax. I saw it was scanned off the boat. Called the dealer and they expedited delivery and it was in Toronto 48hrs later in in my hands the next afternoon.
\
Hope this helps

Are you sure about yours being built right now? Mine is a March build and I already have recieved my VIN a couple days ago. Canada cars will be coming before US cars by about 3 weeks. If you ordered the Aero package you will not be seeing your car in the states until late April at the absolute earliest, I fall under that group becuase I ordered the CF pkg and Aero Pkg. you should be able to call your dealership and have him look up your order and VIN and he should be able to tell you if your car is B1, B2, B3 etc.
Here is a list of build and ship codes MB/AMG uses to track their cars through the order-delivery process. I am assuming that since you do not even have a VIN yet you are a category "A"

Yes, I "tracked" our C63 from when it left Bremerhaven to when it arrived in Melbourne. As I knew the name of the ship, I googled that up as well & got a heap of specs on the ship....engines, power, cruising speed...etc etc etc....it's wonderful what ya can find on the net!
Cheers, Pickles.

Pure awesomeness. Congrats on getting a VIN, finally! Looking forward to seeing pics of both our cars popping up on here when we *finally* take delivery. I fully intend to take crazy amounts of pics during delivery. I owe too many people on here loads of them.

Hmm, does Auto Tracking on http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do still work? It redirects me and then I can't find anything that mentions "Auto Tracking" on that site...

Go to: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do > Customer Centre > Track and Trace > then enter VIN in the Cargo id. box.
I strongly suspect it's not on the boat yet.

Indeed. Also, oddly enough, I noticed they're charging $720 for Iridium Silver now. According to the 2012 Dealer Ordering Guide, all four non-matte colors are no cost. I'll have to follow up on that one.
jtrichel, was there a charge for your Obsidian Black?

GreenLatern,
I show no extra charge for my paint. It is a higher base, as I mentioned, at $105,900. But no charge for Obsidian paint.
Are there really only 26 MY2013 models coming to the U.S.? Wow, if that is accurate, I do feel lucky indeed.
When I plugged my VIN into the previous tracker it didnt work either. My guy said car is at the port in Europe but not on the ship yet. He thinks it will go on this weekend and that I will see it in about 30 days.
