C63 sedan OEM spoiler removal question
How did you remove your oem rear decklid spoiler? Does it require unbolting? Once its removed, what did you use to clean off the old tape? Thanks

Use a string of nylon fishing line to go through the tape...it's plastic so it wont scratch...side through from one end to other, then use WD-40 to clean off excess goo..or even use Goo Gone. Do not use paint thinner, denatured alcohol, benzene, etc...

I use a nylon twine as it cuts faster. I also have an eraser wheel to remove the tape and Goo-Gone to clean residue. SEARCH and you'll find a couple of threads on this subject.

Just to keep you guys updated. I tried goo gone, wd40, rubbing compound. It takes forever so I just brought my car to a friends shop. He had this yellow eraser on the air tool that takes the thick adhesive off in about 30 seconds. It was well worth it.

It is double taped. I managed to get it off today and switched with a CF version. I did whatSincity does. I usd the heat gun first, and the nylon twine and follow alone the tape. and use the eraser wheel to remove it. much cleaner and easier.

On a similar note.
I want to remove my oem spoiler, wrap in carbon fiber wrap, then place it back on, what adhesive would I use to make sure it sticks perfectly?
