Sidewall damage, mixing tires, and PSS?
I hit a pothole tonight and my front driver side got a small cut (approx 0.75in long) on the sidewall about 10mm from where the tire meets the rim. Air started spewing out so I'm on the spare now. I know sidewall damage you typically can't repair but this is closer to the rim so there's not as much stress on this part of the sidewall I would think.. I'm going tomorrow to a local shop but thought I'd ask here first if anyone knows if this can be repaired?
I already mix tires, PSS in the back and Conti DW up front because when I switched rears to PSS the fronts looked basically new still. Anyway, is it safe to mix tires up front? I still have a OEM P-Zero front driver side. They're both performance summers so they would be the same type, although my PZero is 235 and I'm pretty sure my ContiDW is 245. I'm guessing this is bad, but how long would I be able to safely get away with it?
And finally, for all my PSS people, what sizes are you running for PSS in the front?
Sorry for creating a new thread, thought this would be better than digging up 3 separate threads about 3 different things.

I don't believe they will be able to patch your tire with a cut sidewall due to the flexing of the sidewall.
It is not recommended to mix tires on the same axle, especially if they are different sizes.
I am running PSS 275/30/19 on the rear and 245/35/19 on the front.
GL and sorry to hear about your tire damage. Check to see if you have road hazard coverage on that tire?

running a different sized tire shouldn't be too bad I'm hoping at least until my new ones come in. it can't be any worse than running on the spare.

Not to big of a problem, but for how long do you want to run 2 different tyres on the front axle? different profile can cause strange sounds and vibrations in the steering wheel

I agree with Mort, I don't think a cut in the sidewall is repairable.
As for different size tires, if temporary it should be fine but just be careful driving in the rain cuz if both tires are different brand, they will have different thread pattern that might cause your car to be unbalanced.

The DWs have just ridiculously long tread life. Are you getting another pair of PSSs for the front? Or just waiting for a new DW to arrive? They do tend to get back ordered a fair bit.
