Unofficial AMG NorCal meet - Oct 20th
Hi folks,
Here is the thread for this month's meet. I'm thinking we'll rally in Milpitas (for those complaining about the city's "aroma" don't worry, we won't be there long) and then hit the twisties on the way to Livermore.
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...03502,0.005284
The route will roughly be 80 miles so please fill up before you meet up. This ride will be a bit longer...2.5hrs according to Google Maps so be prepared. Just like the last time, I'll have the leader pull off every 45mins or so to a) give us a driving break and b) give folks a chance to catch up and regroup.
For dinner, the best restaurants around there look like a Greek place and an Afghan place so you guys can cast your vote here. Once we decide, I'll update the map.
Logistics: Let's meet right at the intersection of Alum Rock and Mt. Hamilton. That's the start point on the map. There should be plenty of roadside parking for us to gather.
Time: Google Maps says it'll take 2.5 hours. The actual drive itself should take less, but including regrouping at pull offs, I'd allot at least 3 hours total for the meet, then dinner. Right now, I'm thinking we should shoot for a 4pm start and a 7pm dinner. That means meet at the starting point by 3:45 at the latest cause we'll leave at 4pm SHARP.

Nonetheless, I'd love to make it, but I'll be working on my Trans am with an old friend...repainting the calipers and doing some other stuff
Hope it goes great! I'll make the next one

Definitely leave some time to see the Lick Observatory
However, they shut down at 5pm, so 4 sharp departure is critical.
Not saying yet if I can make it.

Dunno if I'll get my rim back and new tires mounted by Saturday. So it's up to clickhere1 and BO KNOWS if we're still on for the ride. Jon is a maybe and Sid hasn't checked on yet. I'm still down but I may have to meet on my bike.

Postponing the event due to low response and the fact that neither Sid nor I will have our cars ready. Stay tuned for a future gathering!
