C63 edition 1 question...

Alrighty boys... I am less than a week out from ordering my C63 coupe in diamond white but a C63 edition 1 became available in my area. They are offering it with ~10k miles for about $71000, CPO. I am about 90% sure I want to order mine since I am in love with the porcelain/black interior and diamond white, but I was wondering if there is anything I should consider from the edition 1 to make sure I have no regrets. Thanks in advance for all your advice!

If you were planning on ordering the LSD, the edition 1 doesn't come with it.

Diamond white is a good choice, I have the same color but in a sedan.

Thanks for your quick reply! So no LSD on the edition 1? That's interesting. I was planning on ordering LSD since it came so highly recommended from one of my previous threads. And yay for you liking the Diamond white my dad has been trying to talk me out of it and into palladium

Yes
Order the new car. Can't be much more than 71 has zero miles and the white is better than the matte black.

A new one will run over 80k. I'd go for the cpo

Hi! Thanks for your replies! Yea the new car came out to $85k-ish before taxes. But with all the discounts it should be about $75k-ish as this is what was quoted since I am doing the european delivery and a couple other discounts that were given to me

I was just wondering between the two since I know how exclusive the edition 1 is. But I do like the diamond white better. I guess I was wondering more in terms of performance. But another member already posted that there is not LSD in the edition 1 :/

Do you really need LSD? I'm never patient enough to order my cars so I seem to end up compromising on options or color. I missed out on LSD with the C63 and surprisingly don't miss it but I also don't track my car. I'd personally go for the Edition 1. It looks pretty bad *** and has the rare(for the US anyway) 19″ matte black wheels. If you do go for it though I'd get the price down. I think 67-68K is more reasonable.

Hi bmoney12! Thanks for your reply. To be honest I am not 100% sure if I need the LSD but it came highly recommended from my last thread. So that is why I ended up going with it. Trust me patience isn't a virtue I exactly possess but it's a graduation gift so I have to hold up my end of the bargain. I don't plan on tracking the car so I honestly have no idea how much of an effect LSD will have in terms of daily driving. Yea i really like the wheels and it does look bad ***. It kind of reminds me of the bat mobile!

Hi mgbrillo! haha I agree with the european delivery part and the free AMG academy session. Those are two of the aspects leaning me towards my diamond white coupe. But the waiting it out part (especially since I am waiting until may to drive/see it) kind of makes me antsy so I can't help but question if I want the edition 1 or my coupe to order. But thanks for the reply

Don't forget that you can go with an aftermarket LSD that will likely outperform the "stock" one.

I do agree 67k is more reasonable. I just bought mine (fully loaded diamond white p31 with red/black leather combo) with 730 miles (non cpo) for 67k. You can't go wrong with either!

Keep in mind that you get the 19" wheels with the edition 1...

You also might want to check to make sure it doesn't have LSD. There was an Edition 1 sedan forsale in my area a few months ago that had dev pack and LSD...which supposedly was not possible. Could be a rare breed.

Yea I totally agree! Either car will make me happy regardless.

But those 19'' wheels look super sweet. It would save me the trouble of ordering the HRE P43SC and waiting for those as well. But I guess I have nothing but time on my hands.

Btw can I not order the OEM 19'' black wheels for my diamond white one? I have been asking the dealer but he said we will figure it out sunday when I order mine.

On the flip side, you could order your new car without the LSD and still go aftermarket.

I tried to order the OEM 19" and my dealer wouldn't budge. They gave me a discount but it was still cheaper to order from online.

I say go for the European delivery if you can wait. I'll have to buy another Benz in the future just to do European delivery.

Definitively no LSD. No 19" wheel option. The dealer would have to order them separate and I think they go for 1K a rim! I was lucky enough to find a used set for $2500 with tires

I dont think you need to pay the guzzler tax since it is used so factor that in to the savings.

Haha... you are giving me so many good options. Now it's going to be even harder to decide. Maybe I should just check out the edition 1 car in person to see if I like everything else? But you are right I could still order and have an aftermarket LSD. So I guess that's like having my cake and eating it too? hah.

Yea I don't think I will need to pay that tax too but I basically got that off on the new one as well since they took $1300 off of msrp for the black alps package which was a graduation gift from them to me. So that kind of balances out right?

If you don't mind me asking where did you end up ordering online?

I honestly do have the time to wait as I am in my last year of college so it will be hectic between now and next may. Plus I just scheduled my MCAT for jan. So I will have tons to do. Plus I have you boys on the forum to keep me entertained with all the cool pictures and threads

Yea I have heard that. To be honest another thing deterring me is the whole installation of the aftermarket LSD. I have to find an indy shop and yada yada. But I wouldn't completely rule it out. I have like 5 days to chew this one over anyhow. haha.

Oh wow. That is expensive per rim. Maybe I will just have to go aftermarket and get the HRE rims. I think they are about the same price wise and probably better quality?

Pretty sure that's a spammer.

Drive one with and without an LSD and see what you think. The aftermarket LSD shouldn't be too tough to install if you find a good shop.
