How much did you pay for custom x pipe and res delete
Just wondering how much you guys paid to get a shop to custom fab an x/ h pipe and install it as well as delete the resonator.
I just had a shop quote me 1500-1800 usd which i thought was quite high. They are quite an established performance shop though. Could i just gave some random exhaust shop do it? I dont want a ghetto rig job but 1.5 k sounds alot for 2 pipes

I bought a GT Pro x pipe, the shop installed it, and deleted my resonator with straight pipes, they charged me $150 (not "ghetto rigged" ) clean job.

pipes are pipes, as long as theres no leaks there wont be any problems, i think any local exhaust shop will do with out any problems for 10%of price what you got quoted
i got my res delete and replaced with x pipe for 200

that would still require someone to install it for me.
but yeah now that i saw mikes mbtax free H pipe I might do that.
I thought it would be cheaper to get a custom one than a premade one from a forum sponsor (arent they close to 700?)

I'd go else where... you dont need a custom made X pipe they make univseral ones...
You can buy a 2.5" magnaflow X pipe for about $100 online. Then the shop will need to make 4 cuts lets say that takes 10 min each...
the might need to do a bit of fab work so lets give them an hour... and then weld it in give them another hour.
Lets round it up to 3 hours labor and 100 parts... lets give them a generous labor rate of 100 dollars an hour your looking at $400 and I would say that's hella expensive... but then again I have done jobs like this myself and its alot of work and if you don't do it every day it can be a pain in the ***.
realistically I think guys here in Canada are paying $175 to $275 for this to be done.

X pipe is an X pipe brand is not important for the sound. Is basically 2 pipes in the shape of an x with the middle bit open so gases from one side can cross over to the other side... it helps equalize exhaust pressure which should also help make extra horse power... at least that's the theory.
btw your stock resonator has a H pipe built in.
So if your going for sound you would go loudest to quietest
straight pipe
H pipe
X pipe
Let me guess you have a nice shiny C63 and are young or young looking... shops tend to take advantage of people who look like they don't know better.

yeah, thats why actually I wanted to do an H pipe for a res delete and straights for the 2nd cat. I really want the exact same sound just louder.
the shop i talked to insisted I do an x pipe which is why I am asking how much people are paying for that.

Two U bens are cut and welded into an X pipe.
Maybe he quoted stainless steel, that would make sense.
Normal steel, that is way too much.
I was selling my X pipes for 300 bones. material was 100 plus time and labour.
