Help: 2010+ mirrors not folding
I installed the new 2010+ mirrors and they do not fold.
My old mirrors folded every time I locked the car.
Does anyone know if all 2010 mirrors have the folding option?
I am sure my car has this option but I do not know if the new mirrors do.
Or maybe I just forgot to connect some cable?

Not all the 2010s have the folding mirror option. The Canadian cars have it, at least my fully optioned car does, but the US cars do not have it in any model. You may have picked up a set of mirrors that do not have the option to fold. Is it possible the mirrors for the different years have different connection layouts. Maybe if you look at the wires in your original connector and see if it is the same as the connector for the 2010 mirrors.

I bought them used and that is why I am not sure whether they are 1) broken, 2) are not supposed to fold, 3) or I forgot to connect some wires. It really bothers me
I'll compare the wiring layouts of my old and new mirrors tomorrow.

just got me thinking.... i know the guys that are updating the tail lights say that 2008 and 2009 models require different coding than the 2010 and 2011 models. maybe the same applies here?

I updated my tails to 2012 and yes, they needed coding but it seems unlikely that mirrors would need to be encoded.

Mystery solved.
You need to make sure you're getting the 2010 folding mirrors.
If they have this option, the mirrors will work instantly after installing them.

This time they worked as they should.
I'm not sure if it that will work. You would need to search the W204 and C63 forums for info on retrofitting folding mirrors.
