Help! Colour conundrum.
Hi, new to the forum and new to Mercedes. Here's the conundrum: I've just ordered a factory build UK spec C63 saloon (sedan) in Polar White with the black 19" multi-spoke rims; the drawback is that the car won't be delivered until mid-March. However, the dealer has a cancelled ordered which is Obsidian Black with the black multi-spokes coming in December.
Do I wait for the white, or do I go for the black? Any pictures of same spec cars would be appreciated, and just general consensus.
Cheers folks!

my wife bananas! :D
all coems down to your preference. was there a reason you went with white originally? the few months you save wont be a big deal in the long run. looking at a colour that you might not 100% like... will be an issue.

I'm being impatient, but March is a long time away! I actually like both colours, white was just my preference with the black rims. Black does look pretty mean, so I think I'd be pleased with it. I'd really like to see some pictures of a black car with the black rims, I have a found a few poor quality ones online but nothing to the standard I've seen of other combos on this forum.

White is 1000x better looking than black on these cars, especially with the silver 19 multispokes.
Ps, I have a black C63.
Palladium with the 19s in black is also killer.

Palladium is a bit dull for me. White is definitely the colour for this car, with black 19s. I think if the black car available had silver rims then I would have been really tempted. Decision has been made to wait as patiently as I can

Palladium has a metallic spray added to it, I wouldn't call it dull. It sparkles nicely in the night and day. Has to be seen in person.

Thing I like best about Palladium is the lines show so well. Black is hard to make them out, but still looks classy. White has a fresh look.
Id go with the silver rims.

I had a black 09 - loved it.
Have a white 12 - love it.
Cant go wrong - however I'll tell you when the black is detailed, there is nothing like it. Dripping wet. Personally, I'm not a fan of Magnetite or Obsidian Black though, it just looks "dirty" to me compared to jet black.
As for the white....I agree, I think on the facelifted models white is the way to go. The contrast with the black looks gorgeous. And if you have the nerve, the red/black interior + black exterior accents (cf spoiler, black front air dam, etc) + red taillights/red calipers really looks amazing. Im biased, but to me that's the #1 combo by far.

Same for the OEM 19's in matte black, be ready to clean them very often... that's why i decided on the silver/polished version.

I own black... I would buy white if doing it again.
If you want white, be patient and wait for it. White is BEAUTIFUL in person on this car. I do like my black but it hides the lines and only looks nice when clean. It is also a lot of work to keep swirls away and you need to be very careful with it. White is easy, beautiful and really looks great on C63 coupes and sedans... especially the coupe with the pano roof.

^---- NOT FAIR!!!
You can't show a BS in a color discussion because the car makes any color look spectacular!!!!
You are right, OB is a beautiful color but so are the whites. The main difference is work required (for a DD car that is maybe more relevant) and preference. Keeping your BS swirl free in sunlight will involve a bit of work and very careful care... I personally don't mind (actually enjoy it) the careful care, polishing, etc of my OB car. Many wouldn't want that. Regardless of maintenance, white is amazing on these cars (Barry's BS is a prime example) and easier to keep looking good.
All of that said... it is pure personal preference. My only advice to OP is decide what you like and then be patient to get it. You will regret compromising.

Lol.. I agree with gthal, shiny black cars are stunning.. But the amount of work involved is insane. I used to have a black car (Stealth TT).. And told myself to never buy another black car.. I mean, 10min after wash it gets dusty. Lol

Cheers for all the input chaps, much appreciated. Having owned black cars before, they offer massive job satisfaction after having invested your whole Sunday washing and polishing. This car is a serious piece of kit regardless of colour, but I'm sticking with the white. I've gone for the porcelain/black interior and whilst I didn't go for the panoramic roof, the car is going into a local shop to have the windows tinted and the roof wrapped in gloss black as soon as it arrives.
The more aggressive Mode Carbon rear lip is also on the list, I'm just disappointed no one makes a blacked out grill for the face lift
