Extended Limited Warranty & Resale Value
Hi all, what are your thoughts on extended oem warranty & resale value? I am going to buy a Mercedes limited warranty that extends the bumper to bumper new car warranty, my original warranty expires next month. But I only plan to keep the car for another 1.5-2 years, I'm at 40k miles right now, only drive 3,000/year, so when I sell it, miles will be under 50k
I can get 6yr/75k miles or 3yr/75k miles. Do you think it would be worth it to get 3yr/75k to help sell the car in the future?
I'm thinking 3yr/75k miles would be best because new owner will still have 1yr/25k miles left of warranty. Or should I get 6yr/75k miles if warranty isn't going to add resale value?

I would go with the minimum that it would take when the time comes to sell your car to allow you to advertise it with say "12 months factory warranty remaining". Any more than that I think you risk investing too much in the warranty and not having the value of it reflected in the future sale price.

With MB factory warranty, it is fully refundable before the date it takes effect. Then it is prorate-ly refundable after that.
