Affalterbach hood badge

In light of my recent "tragedy", I was thinking about taking this opportunity to slap on an Affalterbach badge. What do you guys think? I might not be THIS exact one, but obviously it's not the typical star emblem.

I have it on mine. Black and white though, looks more classy I think. Everyone comments on it when they see it in a good way.

I would prefer it in black and white also.

Where are the b/w ones? I found one on Amazon but it'll take a while to get here.

Get this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMG-Design-M...item231c9d38da

I have that one. It's probably the best one out there.

Yeah, the one from eBay is probably the best one. Just make sure you measure the fitment and emblem, because I originally got the one from JBspeed and the sizes they have are either too small or just a tad bit too big. But their quality is top notch though. The one I got from eBay was plastic; like the stock star emblem.

I have the JP one from eBay:

To be honest quality is just okay. What I got was the chrome surround that goes onto my hood. Then the Affalterbach thing is a sticker made of pressed metal (aluminum I guess) that you put over the chrome piece that goes onto the hood.

The quality of the sticker itself is fine from a few feet away. But when you see it upclose, you'll notice that it's not perfectly smooth. All of the black areas are raised and if you run your finger accross it you can feel every bump. If you look closely at my image you can see from the light how the surface isn't smooth.

with all the fake badging we've been seeing these days, go big and put a rolls royce angel up front

if that doesnt work out, the b/w Affalterbach works splendidly

Two more pics

I think mine came out a bit better than xxgenericsxx but I do agree, it feels kind of cheap compared to the stock one. Mine is actually a little smaller so if you put your hand on it it moves slightly up and down but its not going anywhere. It's a great look though, and nobody really touches it so its good.

I had this on my E55. It was excellent quality and it wasnt a sticker, it was an actual etched piece of metal.

I had too many of the ebay stickers turn yellow after a little while.

The metal etched ones look really good.

I also think this one looks good:

Just keep in mind that certain MBs use different types of flat badges. On my R it's two prongs that push straight into the hood while other types of Benzes have an actual hole cut out of the hood and you need the bolt that goes from underneath.

I've been looking for one. I don't like the 45mm small ones. I prefer the 57.5mm one but GenericSN's comments about quality give me pause.

What is the correct size to be used on a C63 Sedan to fill to whole base?

Question guys...

How do you remove the original mb hood emblem? just get underneath it and yank it out? I just ordered one

Depends on the specific car. (I'm not familiar with the W204 bodies). But in general there are two different types.

1. It's a screw on from the bottom. You undo the bolt and work the spring and clips in such a way that it'll come off. (Same way a hood ornament would be installed).

2. On cars that come only with a flat star you have to gently pry it out from the top. There are two feet that hold it in place into the hood. You use this method if you open up the hood and notice no hardware holding your badge in place.

That's why I'm unsure how it's done on the C Class because they're sold with both the hood ornament and the flat star. But all AMG cars have flat stars. So I don't know if they decided to make it version 2 for the AMG cars or if it's still version 1 described above.

It's very straight forward. No tools needed, just pop the hood and "squeeze"

Our cars are dead simple. Its a spring loaded push. Just squeeze and remove.
