Weird coilover question
Picked up a set of kw v3's and I was wondering if once the coils are on if the springs are actually visible at all. Either way I'm going to end up powder coating them a cool color since I hate yellow and well I just like to powder coat everything I can
My choices I have to decide from since I dont want anything crazy.
Gloss black
Gloss gunmetal
Flat gunmetal

You won't be able to see the springs unless your jack up your car and after 6 months of driving it will be coated with dirt so the yellow won't stand out as much.

^^ yep , totally agree! Save ur money for other modd as powdercoating springs is a waste of money. They will get dirty in no time.

Well it's not a waste of money since I can just throw them in with a batch of wheels whenever and Natman316 if you believe that's true you better call KW and a lot of other companies because they all come powder coated

Ur money, ur car.. so it's up to u. But i still think the yellow springs will become black very quick unless u wash ur wheel wells a lot.

As for natman comment, he might have a good point as powder coating from the manufacture has a different process as re-powder coating them aftermarket.
U can search for the COR wheel thread where the company tried to deny warranty claims based on the wheels breaking after customer re-powder coated them. We will never know the truth & consequences of re-PC, but good luck with KW if anything goes wrong.

The powder coating from the manufacture and powder coating that someone else does is the exact same process. Any powder gets baked between 340 and 450 depending if its a longer cure cycle, faster or a high temperature application. Keep in mind the springs are steel and wouldn't begin to weaken until 1000 degrees. As for COR that's a comete bull**** story to try to cover their backs. All wheels are powder coated from the factory. As long as you're not heating the aluminum to 5-600+ degrees, weather it is the company doing it or a different refinishing company it does not matter as everyone uses the same process. Ill stop here, keep in mind I do refinishing for a good amount of big wheel companies.

Good infos on the powder coating process. If that's the case, u are set to PC them the color u want.
