This information is more or less approved for the brake discs.

Calipers may have the same weight.
didnt exactly answer my question but thanks anyway...

judging by the front rotors probably being heavier than the rears, id guess maybe about 45 lbs total weight savings...

You asked if AMG Steel brakes are heavier than Carbon Ceramic Brakes didn't you?

Please refine...

no i didn't ask that. maybe read my post again.

i asked what the weight saving was, in lbs.

now yes, im able to convert kgs to lbs, but in addition, you only gave weights for the front calipers.

i asked what the total weight savings would be. not just for the front.

You cannot do this with the stock C calipers. The CC rotors are larger.

This price is a good estimate not including labor. You will also need the spacers and longer bolts for the front calipers to fit properly. Let me know if you need any help.

Talking

Hello new on here, just wondering if the hats on the rear cc rotors could be swapped with OEM size hats to avoid changing axles etc, I see this question has been asked before but no answer to it or is that for obvious reasons?

The rear hats and design are totally different so they cannot be exchanged. The rear exchange is not that difficult. However, remember changing to the CC brakes will require all new wheels as the offset changes front and rear.

Ah right I see so the setup here is the best/only option really, would spacers correct the offset or would it have to be new wheels? I presume BS wheels used here would be suffice?

Spacers won't work because the axles are longer/further out which requires more offset so its the oppostire problem from spacers.

The price has been listed a couple of times earlier in the thread but all the parts not including labor or new wheels etc... is about $15,000.

More info - will stock wheels fit, which CCB setup did you use, did you need to fabricate mounts, etc.?

Thanks

Stock wheels will surely fit.

There is a lot work necessary to make this work, not only the new fabricated mounts.

This is not a simple DIY conversion.

You have to fabricate different mechanical parts like e.g. caliper carriers (mounts) or middle plates of rotors.

Those MLs were modified in Moscow/Russia.

The parts list was mentioned in this thead before.

Are you going to retrofit only the front brakes???

I think this is not a good idea.... visually and mechanically!
