New 2012 C63 or used 2010 E63

I went in to my local canadian mercedes benz dealer to order an e550 but then saw an E63 there. It was a 2010 e63 without the performance package with around 35000 kms.

Now I have decided to go for an amg rather than a standard e550. The new e63 is not in my budget but this 2010 is. Normally I haven't been a fan of the c class because I find it a bit small but practically with me without a family, it doesn't matter and the 2012 c class doesn't seem bad at all inside.

So now the dilemma is to lease the e class or finance a C63 as I do not want to buy a 70k car which will be the Old generation this year and depreciate. the C Classis 2012 C63. it is the3k demo with 3k kms on it with performance package, thecarbon fibre mirrors and all other Options that I want (2013 with all these options is $ 79k). with both cars they are including winter tires and rims.

I still have to test drive the C class and will be doing so after the weekend if the weather permits. Oh they are both the same price $67 k.

l also like the fact that the c won't feel old on the road as no new shape this year where as the new e class will be on the road in 3-4 months

thanks

Yes, it was a star certified. The interest rate is high. I was looking at a 36 month lease and it was 5.9 or 4.9. I forget which one.

I am told that MBFS will lease current year used cars with less than 3000 miles. I have not tried it myself, but it is at lease an option to explore.

My heart says C, but my brain says E. The most expensive part of owning an AMG is the depreciation and a major chunk of that has already been covered with the 2010.

Totally different than a 3 year old (potentially more depending on build date) car. Never heard of a lease on a 2010 - maybe a finance deal with balloon payment through the credit union, but not an MB lease.

I thought so as well and thats what I told the guy at mercedes. I told him it would only be feasible for me if I could lease it and he told me its good because on that car, they will offer a lease. With 8k down it was roughly 1000 dollars a month for 36 months.

Since I am getting the 2012 instead of the 2013, part of the depreciation is covered in the c as well.

I was in the same position a few months back, decided on leasing a new C coupe. Yes MBFS will lease up to a 8 model years old CPO but the rates and residuals weren't that good and, as you said the E will seem older in just a few months. Plus the C is just a phenomenal car, I think considerably sportier than the E at least in coupe form.

Go with the E - intoxicating power, and more luxurious to boot.

Ended up with the C63 after the test drive.

Picking up the car on friday. Now the only piece I have to decide on is the tire and rim warranty. It's 1600 for the 4 years, but 1400 since the regular 200 dollar tire warranty is already included in the price. I am leaning towards not buying it as I have only had one flat tire in my 9 years of driving and the tire cost me 350 to replace.

Gotta decide that by Friday. A friend highly recommends getting it since he had some issues with his rims on his BMW after hitting a few potholes, but I don't think the rims should be damaged at that level for them to need replacement.

any input?

If you're observant enough (not patronizing here) AND drive in similar areas for the most part (you'd know the big ones) to avoid the really big potholes, I wouldn't get it. Definitely look at your own history for the most insight.

That's what I am thinking.

But my friend has scared me a bit as his dad got 3 replaced in the first 4 years on his 760li. I just don't see how that happens, but did happen.

Do you know how much I can get these rims for if I were to damage one. I couldn't find much on ebay

Thanks,

Thanks,
I can't speak to BMW wheels, but my AMG wheels have held up very well considering some of the holes I've hit. And AMG wheels usually run between $1250 and $2250-ish. Obviously you could find replicas for less.
