Price quote
Can you pm the price for both quaife and wavetrack lsd for c63 shipped in Canada (g6k 1s8)??
Also is there any programmation to the ecu needed or is it just plug and play? Can it void my warranty?
Many thanks!
Jeff
WaveTrac would be my recommendation for you guys!
Most of you have heard of Quaife
-Used by Ford, GM and Daimler-Chrysler as original equipment
-Widely used in competitive motor sports
-Neither Quaife or WaveTrac require any normal maintenance
-The WaveTrac is slightly more expensive but according to them it is more responsive and stronger then the Quaife setups!
-They also are said to have smoother transitions and better grip in low traction situations
-Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty and built in the USA!
For More Info on what makes the WaveTrac different

PM me for pricing on both

I'd be interested in pricing for both Wavetrack and Quaife for my 2013 C63 507 Coupe. Auckland New Zealand re shipping.
Not sure about the size comparison, but the Quaife units on SRT10 Vipers have not been known to break even well over 1000rwhp, some run a LOT more than that. Never heard of one failing.

Hi Bazman,
I tried to get a Quaife through Vivid but they no longer sell it. Quaife only sell via Birds UK to authorised distributors. So I had to get mine through www.palmside.co.nz. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to arrive. Total was $2400 including shipping.
I then got it installed by EC Mercedes - Mt Eden, which was recommended by Ribfeast, a member of this forum too. Cost to install including a few additional OE parts/oil was ~$700, pretty reasonable actually.
They needed it overnight, but it was pretty painless. I've had it for a week now, I haven't pushed the car much as I want to slow ease into it. I took it for a good drive to Hamilton and back, silky smooth with no noticeable sound.
So far the drive seems more planted, which gives you more confidence to take a roundabout from a stop. I'll probably start pushing the car more now, especially in the rain to see how it feels, but it definitely an improvement.

Thanks for that Nick. Nice to see a fellow Kiwi here :-)
Prices sounds pretty good, the Viper conversion worked out around 5k.
Mine already has LSD I just found out, so will be in a better position to rate the factory diff once I've done a few track days during Targa Tour at the end of the month.
It certainly handled well at the North Island Targa - we did the last 7 stages in it after my Holden blew its gearbox end of stage 11.

Yeah there's a few Kiwis floating around. I've reading here long before I signed up and posted.
I've never had an LSD, even on my previous cars. But I'm no stranger to rear wheel cars with a bit of HP. There was always the slight hesitation you expect under certain conditions, and the stock C63 was no different, in fact a little worst. I don't know why MBenz decided to put LSD as an option, it should be stock.
From my first experience of LSD, I don't think I will do without one on any future cars. Unless it's an AWD.
You're pretty brave to put the 507 in Targa, but I'm sure it was fun! Did you have any cooling issues?

The old style diff locks might be good for drifting but they can kill you at highway speeds once power levels go past a certain point.
the 507 temps during Targa Tour were perfect - normal the whole time despite reaching 200kph between corners (oops). We're normally limited to 160kph and do try to keep it at that, but sometimes you have to focus on the road more than the speedo

That's the very reason why I got a LSD. I'm still learning my way into cars and mods, but I was aware of what LSDs provide. After driving for a while, there were times where the car would just lose traction from an aggressive standstill acceleration, you know, because your foot just "slipped" at the lights right?
So I got a little sick of it and just got one installed after a lot of reading through these forums too. I now agree with many that would say a LSD would be the mod before tune. Especially if it can't put down the stock power in the first place.
