C63 Black Series Exhaust Tips
I noticed that the black series exhaust tips don't seem to be connected to the exhaust but rather to the diffuser.
Anybody else notice this? Has anybody ordered these to install on their C63 Coupe?
I ordered the E63 AMG Exhaust tips to replace my coupes oval tips but was wondering if the Black series tips would fit. Anybody try this? I got a quote of approx 300 for the left and 300 for the right from MB.

Would you happen to know the part numbers for the tips? I'm hoping some company steps up makes replicas like they did for the E63 and S65 tips.

take a look at a BS - the exhaust tips don't actually connect to the exhaust. there is a space between the tips and the outlet holes of the muffler.

He is right...they don't connect. I figured this out when doing my BS body conversion. That being said, might help keep the tips cleaner!

You will need to convert somehow to the BS diffuser if you want to use the BS exhaust tips as they are attached to the diffuser, not connected to the muffler.

They don't connect to eliminate vibrations from exhaust to the diffuser, and also heat-transfer. If you pay attention there is no gap between the diffuser and the tips like in non BS cars. A lot of manufacturers do it nowadays (genius idea for a clean finish). I think Lambo started it with the Gallardo, Lexus ISF followed and now everybody is catching on. I think Cadillac's are in dire need for this. the gap between exhaust tips and bumper/diffuser is nearly an inch!!

so would it be possible to buy a black series diffuser (i assume it comes with the "tips") and then just cut the current exhaust tips so that the diffuser can be installed? or would it be more complicated than that?

The BS diffuser does not come with the tips, they are sold separately. Also, I really don't think the diffuser will work without the BS bumper. See my BS bumper prior to BS exhaust and diffuser.

The BS does NOT have a diffuser like the C63's have. Its all part of the rear bumper as you can see from the pictures. You would need to purchase the rear bumper etc.. etc.. etc... and the list goes on. I think its more than you want to tackle unless you want to do a rear wide bidy conversion.

I don't believe so as the BS is a wider car than the normal 63. As a result, the rear bumper design is completely different- so I don't think it'll be plug and play nor will it look clean.

Like Keith said, you'll need the rear bumper, but then need the rear quarter panels to line up with the bumper, then BS rocker panels to line up with the quarters, then new front fenders to line up with the rocker panels, then BS front bumper...etc etc etc...no plug n play here.
