5.5 badged as 63 is nothing new. The 201X S63 was the first to do it (can't remember the exact year, 2011 I believe?) and subsequent 63s have all been like this.

CLA45 AMG will be a 2.0T I4.

The new 550 engines are really 4.6 TT V8s. The 2013 C300 and C350 are both 3.5 V6 direct injection.

Why is that the worst part? The MCT is now proven to take well over 700 LB/Ft of torque and gets the new E63 to 60 in 3.5

If it's the same transmission as in our 2012+ C63s then its kind of clunk compared to say, BMWs DCT. I find it kind of touchy and super aggressive when put in S+ or Manual and its in 1st.

Basically for such a refined luxury car you'd expect a smoother transmisison.

The CLA's DCT is designed for transverse engine packaging in its FWD platform with an integrated PTU for optional AWD. It will not work in a longitudinal RWD engine layout. There is no in house DCT yet for longitudinal layouts (the SLS DCT is outsourced).
