I am in the process of doing some exterior mods (put a CF spoiler on, plastidipping emblems and then going to wrap the window trim, LED DRL and Grill etc) and I came across this.



Its simply a CF cover that goes onto the antenna via double sided tape. I was just wondering if anyone had this or if anyone knows if this will affect the signal at all?

...dang that's cool... i think i would have gotten it if my roof were still white... now i'm thinking whether it'll compliment my cf trunk and hood but on a black roof... arrrgh

And yes it will affect your antenna signal.

I saw this on eBay as well, and almost bought it. Then I realize that BMW uses the same antenna. As cool as the CF looks, I wouldn't personally put it on my C63.

I'm not too sure how it would affect the signal though...?

I thought this was the same design as the C63 and was about to buy it then I read these other replies.

Fitting a BMW antenna on a MB is just wrong.

I thought this was for the C not a Beemer. I need to find this in the C version. I'll let you guys know if I find it

Technically, it can be for a C-Class. This particular design is just the one that BMW uses. The antenna on our C-Classes has a taller "fin" and looks like an actual antenna.

One other question but does this replace the existing cover or go on top of the existing cover? I took it to mean a cover over the antenna we already have.

I agree with the BMW look, but as far as it affecting the signal, I don't think it will.

Yes, this looks a lot closer the one on the C63. I can't 100% tell for sure because I'm on my mobile and I'm not near my car to check for reference.

In terms of installation, I believe that you replace it with the new one. As to how to take the antenna off, I'm not sure. But I'm sure you'll find it if you search around.

Good find too! I haven't seen this antenna in CF before. I might consider getting it too.

I dont like how the BMW one is for $35.50 and this one comes out to $68.50!!
That an honestly, the BMW one looks cleaner as far as quality goes. I will keep searching though.

Does your car come equipped with Sirius XM Radio? If it doesn't then I think that the 2nd antenna (eBay link) is used for cars with Sirius XM Radio. I could be wrong here, but my C63's antenna does really look like the 2nd antenna. I'm still out of town, but will post a pic of it when I can.

But the price difference is ridiculous. That damned Mercedes-tax.
