Resonator / Secondary Cat Delete
Hey guys,
I did a resonator delete and replaced it with straight stainless steel pipes, it was loud but only at times and certain revs and when the foot was placed hard on the accelerator pedal.
I then wanted more sound so deleted the secondary cats and replaced it with an X pipe. That seems to have added a tiny bit more power but the problem is, while the noise is more constant, it's definitely more refined although also loud. Just a different kind of loud.
I want the burble that you get when downshifting in certain gears and I want a flat out loud sound when driving between 2000 and 5000 revs - other than a primary cat delete, what can be done?
Thanks for any advice.

Get rid of xpipe and have straight pipe in place of secondary cats and resonator. Ita the xpipe that screws up the note. Worked a treat on my C63 black series

Oh, got it. I thought you ALSO wanted to hear a resonator delete, not WITH resonators still there. I have to admit, it's pretty loud. Under moderate throttle, the cabin drone is very noticeable with this setup. I'm used to it and I like it, but sometimes it's a challenge to take phone calls or drive around my gf's parents.

Did my secondary cats with straights and removed the x pipe. Damn it's SO fuggin LOUD.
Really nice and really happy with it but one thing I notice is that it's a bit high pitched but for $130 I am not complaining.

Got a question. I'm new to the C63 world. I've read that there appears to be four cats on the C63. Correct? By removing two of them, as in the secondaries, will the car pass state emissions inspection? I'd like a little more volume, but not too overwelming.
I've not yet been under the car, so I have no idea how it's configured.

Yes, you only need one set of cats to pass smog, at least in California. I have no cats and I just dropped in a couple of 200 cell high-flow cats and that was good enough for the sniffer.

Primary and Secondary Cat delete. I left the resonators on.
I've got the MBH headers, 3 in straight pipes, and x-pipe.

I'm thinking about MBH headers with cats, X-pipe to replace secondary cats, and straight pipes to replace resonators.
