ECU reader/tuner??
Hi guys,
Is there an ECU reader/tuner available for these cars? I see a lot of canned tunes available but I have yet to see people taking tuning into their own hands. Is there something available?

I haven't found one, I would be all over it if there was! Companies are charging as much for a canned tune on these cars as the whole tuner system costs for others. Crazyness. Supply and demand, though.

Eurocharged sells a handheld proramable tuner I believe. I heard Weistec might be coming out with one soon as well. Both companies are active sponsors on the site and both are reliable, proven tuners. I would start with one of them.
I think this might be what you are looking for.

I don't think it's yet available for our ECU. If it is, I will be a little pissed as I am expecting their handheld to arrive today and will have to send it back to get one that does this additional functions.

If they do not offer what you are looking for nobody does. I am pretty sure you would be happy with their product, I have not seen any complaints on their tunes performance, Good luck.

But they will only sell it to a licensed tuning company.

he isn't talking about a handheld flash loader. he is talking about manipulating the entire tune himself. creating his own flash, so to speak.
check these companies out to see what he means

you log and manipulate the tune yourself and create a custom tune for your car (or others cars). I use hptuners to tune quite a lot of vettes, trucks, etc. steep learning curve though.

I'm hopeful we may see something one day…

Thank you Mr obvious.
I was talking about a writer for the ECU. That hooks up to a computer.
This is what is used. Go get one and get on it.

That EC datalogging/editing software is only available for the 55's at the moment ... well have it in a few months according to Jerry ! Cant wait been waiting for this for a while the mygenius handheld is awesome and the v4 tune is def rocking but nothing like this .. now well be able to adjust fueling & timing +/- 3 degrees and even raise the rev limiter a bit so we dont drop so far down the rpm band on those tall gear changes (3-4, 4-5) id love to see a dyno with the m156 pulled to 7800rpm and see if were still making power, flat lining, or falling off a cliff with our relatively mild stock cams

I feel like I'm in middle school on this forum. No comment goes without some sort of juvenile name calling. I thought a Merc forum would have more distinguished gentlemen on it but it turns out its all spoiled teenagers. lol. Who am I kidding, distinguished gentlemen don't use the internet, someone does it for them!
