new tires, a noob to mercedes looking for tips.thanks
hello,i've always been a bmw guy but recently upgraded and switched to mercedes.i have a 2013 c63 amg coupe which i've bought recently.the car came with continental zr1 tires but it seems it doesn't have as good as a traction. They also seem to be wearing out very fast with low thread count.maybe i need to lower my psi? the car came stock with 46 psi and thats the maximum load.my question is,should i lower the psi to 32 or should i switch to new tires?
currently running on 235 in the front and 255 in the rear. will i be able to fit 275 in the rear and 245 in the front without scratching and have enough clearance? My main concern is wider tires?what thread count and which one would be good.I live in california and the weather is hot and cold. i guess i want more handling for the car.I turned sports handling on the amg,the car seems to be too aggressive and the tires can't handle the traction. But with stability control on, the car can handle very rough turns on the road but still i can feel the tires are not gripping as hard to the ground as i want it to be to be able to pick up the speed. i would like to keep my amg stock rims because im only going to drive this for a year and trade it in.thanks and any help would be gladly appreciated for a newbie to the benz world.

from experience it really depends on the weather.. having said that, 46psi is rather high.. bring it down a notch.. i don't know what type of rubber those conti's have but it sounds like they're medium compound tires.. can't go wrong with Michelin PSS or Bridgestone Potenza S001.. they're soft, comfy and has good traction.. only downside is that our cars really burn rubber on the rear end!
