2010 C63 AMG, 2011 Mini Cooper (work)
You think so? I feel like you could do this yourself with a few strips on LED and some know-how on wiring. If going through the dealership I'm sure they will charge you like $500 but as a home project, I don't see it being too awful.

The "Illuminated Star" shines when the car is unlocked or the engine is stopped. It also lights up when the door or trunk is opened. Once the door/trunk is closed, the star will go off in 15 seconds.

It looks good but they need one on the back of the car. That's what most people will see when they tangle with an AMG LOL.

That is an easy to moderate modification. Depends on how you want to do it, just strapping leds behind the star will give you a splotchy look, with bright and dim spots, but that would be easy to do.
Moderate, would be to outline the edges of the star with a very thin clear plastic (or some other clear material with excellent internal refraction qualities, and then connect the end of the plastic to a very bright led. This will give you the glow effect.
Cheaply, just get one of those cheap fiber optic christmas trees (the ones where the entire fiber is lit up, not just the ends of it), and connect the fibers to the star...

agreed...I removed my smoked 5LED side markers as it was just too much for me. I got the stock orange side markers painted black...a bit of light still shines through them at night (guy said he put multiple multiple coats of the MB black paint on them too lol), but it is dim and IMO looks great and very subtle.
