2012 C63 Coupe P31
is it worthwhile getting a tune on my P31

hey guys, I have '12 c63 coupe and want to up the output, but im not sure if there are significant gains from just an ecu tune to justify the purchase. I did the afe dry and charcoal delete, wasn't expecting any gains from that, but otherwise the car is stock..save for tint and larger tires. so my question would be has anyone done the ecu flash alone on the p31 and had gains..keep in mind no headers or other mods are on the car. I have read some similar threads but they seem to be either non PP cars or if they are PP they went with MHP or MBH headers as well which would obviously show greater gains. appreciate any input or suggestions
thanks

Do you plan on eventually adding headers? I think it's tough to justify the cost of most tunes on a PP C63 since the gains won't be anywhere near tuning a non-PP C63. If you see headers in your near future, then go with a tuner that offers free tune upgrades, so when you decide to throw the headers on, you'll get a tune included.

thanks for the input guys I appreciate it. I will go with headers eventually but I dont want to just yet because I think it voids my warranty? ..could be wrong on that? but if I stick with this car then yes headers for certain because thats the next logical step to up performance...although the city bylaw where im at did just pass a stupid noise restriction of only 95 db...so im sure the fines will pile up rather quickly with headers but what can you do

Headers would very likely give you some powertrain (and exhaust obviously ) warranty issues depending on your dealership based off what I've read.

I have a tune on my 08 non PP and killed a P31 2012 the other day. I'd tune it to at least get the same power as the non PP with tune otherwise lose face They're not that expensive.

Oh Canada! I'll share my dyno results with you just as soon as I get them... probably tomorrow... I'm somewhat new to this whole world of mods so, I'm learning myself...

What city are you in? I'm from Victoria / Vancouver... Curious to see what those douche canoe RCMP officers will try and enforce...Best of luck to you! I hope you enjoy your car, I absolutely love driving mine!
