Newbie Picking up ordered C63 Thursday

Hello all, Really like this forum and all of the great information it brings. Have been lurking for months. Ordered a Black on Red/Black interior with P31, LSD, everything except the lane tracking package. Question I have, Is it ok to drive a new car right from dealer, on a 300 mile trip to hotel then another 300 mile to destination. I know under 4500rpm and 85 mph max. Anything else to watch out for? Thanks and really enjoy this forum. First Mercedes ever.

I've heard tons of conflicting information about following break-in instructions, but one constant is that you should vary the rpms, especially during highway cruising. Use your paddles and shift between 4-7 as you drive along.

Your car will be fine. Just plan a route that allows you to get off the freeway and vary your rpms in different gears.

Congrats on the new car! I wouldn't overthink it too much. Just don't rev the crap out of your engine or redline it out of the gate and you'll probably be fine. Definitely try to vary the RPMs a bit though. I've heard that from a few sources.

Having broken in many many hipo autos your trip is just what you need. Let the engine get up to normal operating temp then continually vary throttle soas to produce varied rpms in varied gears. Stay below 4500 rpm throughout the first 800 miles
You'll be fine

I do know that it says to break it in for first 1000 miles with it in C mode for the tranny, so if your on the highway for 300 Kms I'm assuming its going to be at a constant rpm in 7 th gear, so your kinda in a funny situation, if you wanna vary the rpm than just manually use the shifter to hold the rpm while its in C mode, or if you don't care pop her in M mode and fluctuate the load on the engine , don't stay constant for 600 Kms , vary rpm and load and you'll be good .

You can use the shifter or paddles while in "C".

Do you plan on keeping the car for ever? Will you likely own it for 3 years or so but do 50000 miles per year? If not I would not worry too much how you run it it other than just take it easy for the first 1000 miles or so then go for it
