Broken belt
Hi guys! Last night I was driving my car Normally ( on/off) and a battery sign appear in the dash and the power steering disappear.
First I tought the battery was dead.But when I open up the hood and I saw that the belt wich pass by the power steering and the water pump was broken...

It's called the serpentine belts, it is part of preventive maintenance to have your mechanic inspect it once in a while for cracks or unusual wear.
98k km was probably due for a change... cheap part to replace, but luckily you didnt get stranded in the middle of the hwy. LOL

Easy to change.
Remove fan on the rad if you need room to work. There is a pulley that is spring loaded, you turn it with a wrench or socket and throw the new one over.
I have a used one here if you want. Just took it off for blower install.

Happened to me last month on my way home from the hospital. I too thought it was the "Battery" Limped home, and it took about a week to get my car back. this was due to an influx of repairs before mine at the dealership here. All is well now
