Mobil 1 5W-40 ESP-M Quart 6-pack $29.97 after rebate from Amazon.com

Pretty good price for the recommended oil for our 6.3 engines.

LINK LINK

Found this in the comments for this product on Amazon.com:

This is directly from AMG.

This occurs as the automotive fluid standards have changed in the meantime (in May 2008).

In general, the following fluids should be used for AMG engines :

- Mobil 1 5W-40 for M156 engine (63er models)
- Mobil 1 0W-40 all other AMG engines (as well the AMG diesel engines that was used for the C 30 AMG)
- Mobil 1 5W-50 SLR engine

Before that change, the Mobil 1 0W-40 was used for the 63 models as well.

Best regards,
AMG Private Lounge Team

I don't think the C63 is supposed to use the ESP formula. Thats for the 229.51 (Low SPAsh) spec not 229.5 for C63.

Still more expensive then the cost I get from my dealer. It's always nice to have a great relationship with said dealer.

the 229.51 is actually the latest spec. and the ESP formula is recommended for the 156 engine along with the older non ESP formula.

Inquires in the AMG Private Lounge were responded to by MB moderators, and the current recommendation is the 229.51. My Tucson dealer uses the regular 5W-40 M per 229.5.

Joe

The rebate is still valid:

- Original receipt(s) from amazon.com must be dated between March 1, 2013, and May 31, 2013.

If anyone near Irvine, CA want's to split a pack, let me know. I bought the six pack to top off my oil once in a while, but since I don't drive my car much, I don't need six.

These go for $12 a quart at the local auto stores.

Wish you would've mentioned that yesterday. I just drove up from SD and am by LAX right now. I'll be heading to San Bernandino for a meeting tomorrow so Irvine is a little out of the way. Plus, I'm not sure how I would get them back up to NorCal.

I forgot to mention that the oil arrives on Friday. I'll likely use one quart to top off and keep a couple of quarts for the future.

Gotcha. Is it only one discount per transaction? Or can we buy several?

I'm pretty sure that is not the correct motor oil, the recommend motor oil for the C63 is Formula M Mobil 1 is only licensed to be sold by Mercedes Benz.

My local Mobil 1 distributor who sells to all the local stores around here cant even get there hands on it.
