What's a good 1/2 mile trap speed
What's a good 1/2 mile trap speed for a non FI c63 with bolt ons
I hit 152.9 with bolt on mods and was wondering if it was good or bad.
Total weight of my car with driver just a tad under 3800#

That sounds low, was it a standing or rolling start? There was a C63 coupe with just a Weistec tune at Shift Sector trapping at 151. My C BS was trapping 165-167 depending on the wind and the CLK 181 mph to put it in perspective. If you trap was a standing start that is a decent time, rolling it is a little slow.

I am by no means a 1/2 mile expert, but I have run two of them in the past two months and I was pitted with most of the benzes running the events and saw and heard what most of them were trapping. I think a tune only CLS M157 tt was trapping at 157

VP109 is 13.41
Ya it has a lower rating, so if that is tuned to run on MS109 strictly, you are about right on,maybe a tab bit rich..
But for pump gas, that tune is too rich for NA, IMO. Probably costing you some power.

I was at 12.8-13.0 a/f when I was na and I had a wideband guage that I monitored frequently, 11.9 sounds a little off. You running a wideband? How are you figuring your a/f?

I would not jump right out and say anything is wrong. A few more questions have to be asked, was it flat, uphill, downhill? Windy, headwind or crosswind? My speed at Shift Sector were done with a 40 mph roll and only 2550ft, they factored our rolling take off area into the half. I would think you would be trapping over 155.

Head and cross winds that day
The track is up in the mountains so its got to be high in elevation

Comparing your races to other races held half way across the country is pointless.
Its like us in Canada comparing 1/4 times to you guys racing in -600DA and a different track, it just isn't apples to apples.
All you can do is compare the same day at the same track, there is just way too many other variables to take into account.
For a perfect example, look at your signature, 10.9 in the 1/4, when we have the same car and pretty much same mods (before the blower), I was running my best of 11.8. You're almost a full second faster.
I bet I wont even hit 10.9 with the blower.

Is your car stripped of weight? How are you at 3800 with driver? My car is over 4100 with me in it. I am sure the blower and ice tank add some weight but not 300 pounds. How much do you weigh, I am under 200.

I think it will be difficult to come to a "good number" and whether your number is good or bad.
The current conditions of that day will make it unique. You can come up with a range of saying 15Xish is in the ball park but I think that is about it.
I had a similar argument regarding the mile run. The event I did, it took at least 900rwhp to break 200mph and we were debating if a vette who clocked over 200 supposedly only had 700ish rwhp.
Your best way would be to compare other cars and the mods they had and what speed they achieved that day with you.
The rest is kinda speculation.

The stock C63 at the event was hitting high 130's, and the tune only C63 was doing 144-145.
Hope that makes you feel a bit better. Strong car you've got there for NA.

Hagi, I think your results are right where they should be. I ran at the recent Shift S3ctor 1/2 mile event with the mods listed in my sig (full weight w/ 95 octane fuel) and consistently hit 151mph from a 40mph roll.
The stock C63 at the event was hitting high 130's, and the tune only C63 was doing 144-145.
Hope that makes you feel a bit better. Strong car you've got there for NA.

It was my 1st time doing a 1/2 mile event so I dint know if its good or bad.
Anyway your 151 is strong for full weight , I'm 300# minus plus I have a tune for ms109.

I think it went 167 but Steve or Mike from Weistec would have to confirm. All I know is that I was beating the Ewith my C at the No Fly Zone event in March by 3 cars in the 1/2 and then at the Shift Sector event in April the same E was beating me by 3 cars....they are obviously continuing to tweak that monster.
