Cel P0022 - Intake cam position timing over-retard bank 2

Hoping someone can help.

Running my car with a tune and full catless with an xpipe along with row intakes.

after removing my primary cat and running my car for about a week, I pulled this cel.
now it seems to occur about every 100 miles after clearing.

ive read that others have just replaced their cam magnets but I have no clue where these are. Has anyone come across this before? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the cam is being retarded over its limit?

Could be a sensor or problem with the adjuster.

that was my feeling too. I just want to try replacing the magnets first as its seems to be a simple fix and very low cost vs taking it into the shop.

Ive got warranty but having to restore my old exhaust all the way up to the mani is such pita.

Anyways, going to try to replace the magnets and see what happens, will keep this posted.

Talk to your SA and see where he stands with mods, im running full catless and a tune and my SA has never voided my warranty, and ive been in there for warranty work more than 5 times

Update

So I had the car dropped off at the dealer and what they found was two damaged/cracked intake camshaft adjusters on the left intake side.

After about a 6 day stay in the shop, it drives like new now. It maybe in my head but it feels a bit stronger on the throttle response.

The repair invoice shows the cost at 1625.44 for labor&parts with the following note: RR replaced damaged left intake camshaft adjusters, valve covers, RR cam timing set.

Several things I did notice when I got the CEL, there was a very noticeable ticking noise from the engine and the throttle was very rough and felt retarded. Also my MPG went up on avg 3-4mpg.

anyways, just wanted to update the thread.....
