Cleaning project...final instalment, for now ...

Here we go, finally got round to the SL63. Hasnt been cleaned in a long time and getting the carbon off the exhaust tips took a while but came out alright i think. At some point will get round to the Ml63 and C63 BS. Hope you guys like the pics:

Very, very nice...

Did you use anything in particular to get the carbon off the exhaust tips? I've struggled with that before on one of my cars and am cautious to use anything too strong in case it gets on the paint.

I use an old wash mitt to clean the tips inside and out with the same car wash soap I use on the car. If I need to remove some burned on specs I use Never Dull wadding.

It's not too harsh on the tips?

Similar story here except it's just elbow grease.

I'm not sure if we can get the Nevr-Dull wadding over here but I'll have a look around - sounds like it's the just the thing for this.

Thanks guys. For the exhaust tips I use first pass with car wash and MIT, then dry off then use paper towel and metal polisher and then for the really stubborn bits I use mildly abrasive steel wool. But use carefully as it will screw up the finish if not careful.

Thanks Maverick... looks like I need to get some metal polisher to make this a little easier.
