C63 vs. E550 Coupe
Hey everyone,
I really love this forum and how active it is, with that said, i would love to know the difference between the E550 Coupe and the C63 PERFORMANCE WISE. I am not interested in how it differs in appearance or interior, i just want to know how faster and fun the C63 is comparing to the E550. I drove the E550 coupe for several times and i must say it is very quick and fun. I know the C63 is an AMG which we really can't compare to the E550 but i would appreciate some input.
I've been going back and forth with getting a new car i was between the C63 and the CLS550 but i finally decided that i would definitely go with the C63.
This is not for reassurance, i am just curious.
Thank you!

This has been discussed quite a bit, even if you google search your exact thread title it will bring you to discussions on this board.
The TT 550's are just sick with simple mods. They gain 100 Hp from tune pretty easily. The non amg cars won't have the AMG brakes/suspension though. Read through those threads and you will see everyones comments. GL!

We've had E550 Coupe (2012) & C63 (2010) for about 18 months. I drive the C63 as a daily driver and it's a blast.
The E550 is definitely fast, it just doesn't handle as well as the C63. The E550 has a nicer interior and more room for back seat passengers. It is a comfortable highway cruiser and great at 80+ on the highway.
I almost decided on the E550 Sedan rather than the C63. I think it handles and rides closer to the C63 than the E550 Coupe. I could see that my next car could be the E550 Sedan after I'm through with the C63.

I've had the E550 coupe as a loaner a couple of times and even thought of getting one for DD (before I got a 335). It is quick but has nothing else in common with C63 performance-wise. The brakes on the E550 are especially disappointing. Take it for a test drive on an empty road somewhere and do a couple of emergency stops. Total deal breaker for me.
