AMS / Alpha Performance - Tune Results
AMS dropped my car off at my house a few hours ago. I have dyno chart in hand. I have not yet had a chance to drive it and with the weather coming through Chicago in the next couple of days, it might be a while before I get to open her up at all. But I figured I'd share the numbers. Started with a completely stock 09 non-P31.
Summary: +70 hp and +30 ft-lbs at the wheels. 456 hp and 411 ft-lbs at the wheels after. My math says 530-ish hp and 475-ish torque at the crank? I believe Eric@AMS mentioned these numbers were slightly better than their own 2012 P31 car. I'm happy. Chart attached.
Okay I started typing this post and since the roads are kinda dry now, HAD to go for a little drive. I live in the city, so not too much I can do, but I hit up four or five highway on ramps. I don't wanna get too excited yet (I've been driving a slow-*** G for a week), but the little beast really pulls hard - EXTREMELY noticeable up top. Truthfully I've never really loved the experience of the C63 above say 5000 rpm. The beastly, bellowing exhaust note that I love so much UNDER 5000 rpm kinda fades away and is replaced by a slightly unpleasant (to my ears) dare I say struggling mechanical engine whine. And the chart shows stock power flattening at 5000-5500. But now, good Lord, at high rpm it keeps pulling and pulling and it sounds so much better doing it. You can literally hear the engine breathing better, inhaling bigger. Does that sound too douche-y?...maybe.
Anyway, major thanks to Eric and Larry (and Clayton) and anyone else involved with the tune at AMS/Alpha. It was a sweet-*** offer when they were looking for a non-P31 car to finalize their tune on, and I'm glad I got the chance to benefit from it.

The car is making some nice power now. I'm happy to hear you were able to get out and enjoy it some last night around the weather.
Thanks again
Larry

I'm twitching because everyone keeps talking about tunes and how good it is! Although I have a P31...hard to control myself from pulling the trigger for a tune. Grats to OP on their gains!

The gains here seems to be well above AMS's claimed 59hp, which is always a good thing and what I love about AMS.
I dyno'd (granted different dyno, conditions, etc.) about 421whp with OE tune before AND after 2nd cat-delete (Basically 2nd cat-delete resulted in 0whp gain). These gains are awesome.
Congrats to OP and AMS!

I'm glad someone got to do it. If mine had been stock I would have jumped on the chance. Maybe they'll look for someone with headers to test now that they have the stock non-P31 tune done.
I asked them in another forum about the handheld, but didn't get a response.
Did they open up your ECU or provide a handheld so you can change the tune back to stock at any time?

No handheld offered or mentioned. They did say beforehand that would not need to open up the ecu.
Yeah, the responses were so mixed in the other thread where they were looking for a volunteer. But pretty sweet deal in the end.

How did their tune "not work"? There are dozens if not hundreds of people on this forum that have been running Eurocharged tunes on their M156's for years and I have never heard a bad thing from a single person about the tunes they offer. Your vague little cryptic responses are a bit telling.

I dyno'd around 422-423 on my Kleemann K1 with K&Ns (different day, cond, yada, yada). We need to see more AMS tuned cars or OP may have a "Factory Freak" like JonsMB.
