If the average mileage accumulation is about 12k miles/yr, multiply that by how old the car is. It's also helpful to know the owner to know if those are "hard" miles or highway miles.

I've heard different things and people here will argue the point to death. You need to ask the seller or dealer, if you're picking one up. Some people say that the warranty is transferrable, others say you can only pick up an extended warranty if the original owner acquires it before selling, others say you can pick up a warranty if it's a CPO. So you'll have to check.

Alright, thanks for the info. I'll make sure and check before I buy. I looked at an m3 and the BMW dealer said as long as the mileage/years old werent over a certain threshold I could get extended warranty through them, hopefully MB does something similar.

If you buy it from a MB dealer (CPO or not), I believe you can get an extended warranty through MB, for that matter, you can usually get an extended warranty through any dealer, MB or not (although it may be a third party one).
CPO warranties are not transferable, but it is really only an additional year on top of the base warranty, or 100k miles (whichever comes first, at least that is what my CPO one was).

I just got a 2009 CPO. I was able to add MB extended warranty for an extra 3yrs or up to 135k (bought with 50k on it). The extra warranty is refundable or transferable to another MB car if I get rid of this within that time.

Oh man that sounds great. Most of the cars I'm looking at have between 30k-50k miles so getting the warranty would be great. Mind me asking what they charged for the warranty?

MB CPO warranties are transferable to private parties.
