How to Install Front Lip
Hey guys. I bought an Arkym style carbon fiber front lip off of ebay. It does not have any screw holes in it at all. How would I go about installing it?
Can I make holes myself or would double sided tape be enough to keep it on? Thanks.

My boca front lip came with no predrilled holes either. I had it installed at a MB service center, and the guy used a silicone type of material to make it stick, cancelling out the gap in the middle. Looks OEM. But taking it off will be very difficult. I can post some pictures if youd like

hey fung. I've never had a lip before so from the quick test fitment I did, it looked pretty good. I'm either going to try to install it myself or take it to a shop. once it's on though, I'll post pics.
maroon, would you be able to post pics? also, how much did they charge you to install it? did you go to your local dealer?

If you're going to drill CF, I would suggest putting some masking tape over the hole surface (especially on the bottom) and clamping a piece of wood over the bottom as the epoxy resin sometimes has a tendency to chip and you may get a ragged edge. Also, the drill bits have a tendency to wander somewhat (presumably because of the weave) and they will go dull relatively quickly.
Learned this (the hard way) when I was helping a friend install a CF mast and boom on his sailboat.

the more i think about it, the more i think i'm going to just get it installed somewhere. i've never drilled holes before and could ask a buddy to help me, but i'd rather not risk messing it up.
here are pics of the lip though:

Looks nice... as for the little hole on the underside, there always is one on any hollow fiberglass or cf enclosure I have ever seen (presumably to aid with drying and/or air expansion due to temp changes) so it's normal.

Definitely go with a strong adhesive or the drilling as others mentioned. If there is no guide you should definitely bring it to a qualified installer.
PS. that doesnt look like 100% cf

I have a real Arkym lip and the shop drilled additional holes to the even though the lip came with a few already. They also used strong 3m tape with the screws.
