H&R Springs alternatives?

H&R Springs alternatives?
I know many people roll with the H&R lowering springs but are there alternatives in the same or close price bracket? The only reason I ask is after lurking in the forum I have read they can soften the ride a bit. Honestly I love an insanely firm ride and will eventually splurge on a coilover system for this level of adjustment. For now, however, I wanted to lower the ride height a bit without it getting mushy.

my wife bananas! :D
the people that say it softens the ride can probably do a dyno with their rears
H&R just lowers it .75 of an inch... that's it! for me after i lowered it and looks aside... there was no difference in stiffness.
if you have a friend around you that drives a c63 and is on h&r springs... give it a try

I think it stiffens it up a little bit now. ~300 for high quality springs isn't bad. Most places will charge you more for the install than the spring itself. If you will eventually get coilovers, get HR for ~1200. It's a good price for decent coilover system.
