Recall for trunk lid (2009)?

I was talking with a forum member who mentioned his SA told him there was a recall on his vehicle for a trunk lid problem. (Hopefully he weighs in with some details...). Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Never heard that from any SA and it didn't come up on my PPI.

There was a recall WAAAY long ago for my 2003 S430, but those were the pneumatic trunks. Ours is all mechanical, so I doubt there's a recall on it. Maybe some electrical problem?

Here's what it was: for 2009 there was a TSB for the trunk stops. They were too low and all the service guys did was unscrew the stops to extend them. When I took delivery of my 2009 that's what they did and called it a recall...they claimed the trunk slammed too hard into the bumper causing paint chips and scratches and damage...

That's probably it. I remember that instead of taking it in I did it myself...I can see five threads on each of the screw-out adjusters.

That's it? Sounds like a DIY recall.

I dont kno the full extent of the recall but there was definitely a trunk lid/ switch for 2009 C63s. This was confirmed by my SA on Saturday as he was going thru all recalls when he looked up my vin history

I'm pretty positive that was it...just the trunk lid slamming too low.

Took mine in and they just adjusted it. They also found oil seeping from the trans pan and repl the gasket along with 9 qts of oil. Looks like I got a free oil change though they didn't repl the filter. Guess I'll just change the filter and reset the FSS.
