The Void Below Driver's Seat

I've dropped a nickel and a quarter since ownership of 29 months. Finally decided to look for them. Moved the seat to max front and back positions. Nothing below. Flashlight just about every crevice. Never to be seen again.

Try dropping your iphone down the side by the center console. You will need surgical instruments and 3 hours to be able to remove it. I think its easier to remove someones gall bladder...

The appropriate 4-letter word follows dropping anything between the front seats and the center console!!!!

Especially phone or car key. If you move the seat just the wrong way, say bye bye to your stuff, unless you get some surgical equipment like zeph said.

this thread has funny timing

i was driving my '13 Explorer Sport a couple of weeks ago and my lady had my cell phone on her lap and it slipped down between the seat and center console . we pulled over to get it and , like David Copperfield , that sucker was gone . i was between the front and rear seat looking and she was in the front looking and neither one of us could see anything . she used her cell to call it and you could hear it vibrate but nothing . i stuck my arm under the seat and could feel it vibrating but couldn't see anything . after moving the seat forward and backward about 100 times to look for it , i moved it all the way back and noticed a small cut in the carpet where the wiring for the seat comes through . i stuck my fingers in there cuz my whole hand wouldn't fit...and i'll be damned if the stupid phone wasn't in there . i had to rip the carpet about 1.5" to get my hand in there to get the phone . after 30 minutes , i finally had my phone back . i put the phone next to the opening before i ripped it and it couldn't have been a closer fit . i have no idea how the phone made it through because of all the wiring....but it did and it caused me a few years off my life with all the stress of trying to find it

Here is one for you guys, put my tax refund cheque in the center console of my E63 went back into the house for 5 min. , returned and proceeded to the bank. In the parking lot of the bank in 85 degree weather after opening the door, opened up the center console by sliding open the panel, guess what -- no cheque-- looked all over the place pulled inside cup holders out, could not find it. Went home checked around the house, pants everywhere. Went back out to the car and took the center console apart, the cheque was found under the console sitting on top of the carpet like it had been placed there and then the console was placed on top. Whooowe was I happy .
Rule of thumb never place paper in this compartment as the lid when slid open will take it into the Abyss of the car and taking that console apart is not easy.

A DIY I've done years ago that will save your life and hours of frustration.
Cut out of acoustic foam and held in place with double sided tape.

I lost an expensive ($700) Mont Blanc pen years ago in one of my work F150s. I looked everywhere and searched the whole vehicle inside on multiple occasions. I finally gave up the search, I still remember the day I traded that truck in and I knew it was in there

Just the other day, I was reading a contract at home in my home office/library and I dropped one sheet of the contract from my desk and it shot perfectly under the toe-kick of the cabinetry and cherry floor At first I was like "where the *** did it go?" Then I grabbed my flashlight and looked in the crack and could see it about 4" in. I freaked out and figured it was going to take a couple hours of my life to recover. I had visions of me sawing the bottom of the cabinet out. After 15 mins of sliding another piece of paper between the crack I was able to fish it out!
