Retrofit W204 C63 to 4matic

Just hypothetically speaking since I saw the build thread on the C63 BS that was converted to 4matic and was wondering what is involved in doing so? I know W212 platform cars have been converted recently as well. Since I live in Canada and we get snow 4matic would be beneficial not to mention the performance benefits.... although I doubt I ever would because I love sending the rear end out . Anyone know what parts/cost is involved in the conversion?

My uninformed response is many parts and a great deal of cost.

I'm sure someone on here can respond with an approximation though...

for starters a new transmission that is designed to have a transfer case attach to it. I know someone has done this with a c32 or 55maybe? but alot has changed since then. You pretty much looking at probably 12k$ in parts on the low side. I highly doubt a regular 204 transfer case and front differential would handle the power of a stock or lightly modded c63 for any period of time. I also doubt the newer 4matic parts will fit considering the front axles go through the oil pan. wheres build that made a c-bs 4matic.

You mind as well wait for the new C-class to be released since it seems like they're offering it with 4wd. If you start saving now, you'll probably have enough saved up in time for it to be released. Plus, you don't have to hassle with retrofitting. Just my 0.02

As well I don't think it's worth the hassle and the money. Just be patient

It's not possible to do the 4matic conversion with the M156 you will have to do an engine swap and install the M157, the converstion without the engine will cost you around 30k euros, its steep but with the M157 it will be rewarding ESP programming is still an issue and my car is delayed because of the summer holidays. Once she is ready I will share some figures and videos
Being patient for the new C63 is the best thing if you are looking for 4matic without having to go in a headache.

Off topic but how are your wheels doing? Any blemishes or chipping? If there's ever any problems make sure to tell me. I'm thinking of getting those wheels as my next mod.

ya not sure how i missed that video the other day, maybe my browser screwed up. ya sounds like your best bet is to find a wrecked/totalled newer biturbo amg - copart.com wait for u.s. to release the 4matic amg e's and break out the wallet. Good god that c63 bs is a nasty ***** there. holy crap. Hopefully they went all out with the motor with bigger turbos and down pipe etc...
