C63 AMG Oil change/service
Hey guys I finally bought a new C63 around the end of may and i have some pretty general questions about the services for this car.
i had a honda civic before and i remember changing the oil for the first time at like 7000 miles and i keep reading stuff about people changing their C63's oil at 3k miles.
also on my cars thing it says services A isnt due for around 300 some days so im really not sure when i should be getting my first oil change and how often i should be getting it changed.
and what exactly is service A. is that just a oil change? or do they do other stuff plus the oil change and when should i get be getting that done? ive had the car for a little over 2 month and have driven 1344 miles and the 3rd month is coming up and im wondering if i should get getting the oil changed already.
i know these questions are probably common knowledge to some people but im pretty lost on what to do. any help would be great!

Service A is pretty much an oil change; plus some inspection points. Oil changes at every 3k miles is a bit excessive. I would recommend every 6k miles or once a year if you don't drive it much.
The on board computer that tells you when your car is due for service is VERY conservative with the oil changes...I believe it's adjusted for every 10k miles or so between oil changes.
Read your owner's manual... there's important information in there about service intervals. One thing to note is the rear differential oil that needs to be changed early own; especially if your car is brand new.
Also, use the search function in this forum. There are LOADS of information about servicing.
Congrats on the Beast! Treat her well and in turn it will do the same for you!

I searched the forums and read that the rear differential oil for the C63 needs to be changed 2k miles is that really true? i also read that someone changed theirs at the 1 year mark with 10k miles with their sevice A. I knew buying this car would require alot of maintenance so this isnt really a big supprise i just want to find out everything because i really want take care of the car as best as possible.

I didnt get the performance package and you only get LSD with the performance package right? i really dont remember if i got it or not but im pretty sure i didnt.
so if i dont have LSD do i get the diff oil change with my service A then?

Yes, no LSD no dif oil change. Just wait to A service light comes on, or your first set of rear tires, which ever comes first.

re changing oil early I would not bother. These engines chew through oil so you might end up having to top up a few litres of oil over the recommended oil change interval anyway

Remember these engines hold much more oil, almost double, than other cars like honda civics so they can go longer oil change intervals.
Mercedes recommends 10k oil change intervals but if you drive aggressively, then you could try 5k oil change intervals.
