Weistec tranny upgrade?

Anyone upgraded their tranny and tcu using weistec? I am interested in the tcu amd tranny mod but haven't heard much about it on this forum? I am looking at the basic mod not the torque converter swap yet. Thanks for input. I am looking for the neck snapping shifts like an aventador......

Does the mod hold gears in manual mode? I don't really like when it downshifts as you slow down, can be awkward for corners...

What do you want to know?

I have both the transmission upgrade and Valve body (TCU) upgrade. Car shifts smoothly and quickly.

In Manual mode, it should only downshift when the rpm's get to a point where the engine would stall. At least it is like that for my car, usually around 1200 rpm.

Where you can get unstuck is taking a corner slowly and it changes down to first on you, pulling out of a corner in first is not ideal, particularly if you are not expecting it. Given the car takes off in second in comfort mode, not sure it's about stalling.

If youre looking for faster shifts get a new car.

It wont shift much faster. You need a DCT for that.

Awesome was it a minor improvement or well worth the transition costs?

The benefit of what - the MCT vs torque converter or the tranny TCU flash on an MCT? The MCT already shifts pretty aggressively in S+ or M and rev-matches on the downshifts, so there isn't much you can do to it...

Yes, I have the MCT and it was upgraded with Weistec. Both the Transmission and valvebody. before the upgrade, and I think anybody with an MCT knows this, between 3rd and 4th gear when the tranny is cold (upshifting or downshifting) you would feel a little tranny hesitation. Even if you went to the dealer, they would tell you that this is normal. On Downshifting, the tranny would feel a little heavy on all gears. After the upgrade, that has completely vanished. Car shifts perfectly and smoothly. upshifts and downshifts are very quick. Shift times are much quicker and makes the car overall faster.

BIG improvement. its something that you can actually feel. I will post a video of my RPM while my MCT is shifting.

Are you comparing the transmission on the SL63 to the C63 by any chance? Yes, they're both the 7-speed MCT, but the OEM TCU programming on the SL is considerably "softer" than the C because it is a grand tourer after all.

You're 2010 doesn't even have the same tranny as this SL.

Shifts are a tad quicker but there is still a huge delay from the flick of the shifter to the actual shift.

Well it's pretty much a pointless mod then

Except it proberly saves the tranny from destructing for the supercharged guys
