Secondary cat delete and resonator delete
Hey guys, looking to go straight pipe on second cats and resonators. I've searched a lot about this and wanted to know if it's overly loud at idle or while cruising. Is between 100$ and 200$ ok? If anyone has a youtube link that has exactly second cat delete and res delete with straights can someone post it? I seem to always find with either xpipe or no res delete. thanks

I used to have an unresonated Milltek RS4 (B7 v8) and moved to a MY2012 C63. I found WOT in the C63 great, but still was missing something.
So I removed the 2ndary cats and put in a x-pipe, and it greatly improved volume and anger levels of the car. But it still was missing something...
So I then went back and removed the resonators, now it backfires on downshift and is much more menacing. When driving under 3K RPM it's perhaps 10-20% louder in a midrange tone. I've never had anyone comment on the noise levels or about there being any drone. The RS4 had insane droning at 1800-1900rpm though.
Personally I say get the x-pipe and 2ndary cats pulled. Drive around and if you still aren't happy then take out the resonators (cost me about $80USD). I don't regret it, it makes the car sound furious.

X pipe ruins the car sound. Don't do it. If leaving stock primary cats, go straight pipe for resonator and h pipe for secondary cat delete. Mike's power pipe is a great h.
The mufflers on these cars are designed to be really loud to make up for all the restriction.....

Did anybody ever thought about recycling there cats? I have no use for mine & don't plan on putting them back on. My secondary cats are just sitting in a box in my trunk, I was going to throw them away but figured I might get some money back since people go around cutting peoples cats for $$ around here...has anybody tried?

Here is mine. OEM headers into secondary cat + res delete into stock mufflers. I didn't rev beyond 2-2.5k because neighbors were around.
It is actually a little quiet for my taste. It isn't in your face loud until you really get on it. Then it opens up as you would expect.

Are there 4 cats in total? So normally you guys would just remove the 2 towards the rear and remove resonators right? And leave the 2 cats at the front as is? Is there any resonators in the front near the headers? I don't own one yet so idunno what it looks like under there.

I'm currently running Mike's power pipe (h pipe, love it btw), and am hoping that someone out there offers a resonator delete, before I go to the effort of having something custom made. Thanks guys.

I'm not sure if the sound will be exactly the same. You might have different mufflers as well? I'm not too up to speed on the CLS63... For emissions, keep the primary cats, delete secondary and res and run that into your stock mufflers and I'm sure it will sound pretty mean.
I'm probably going to get a set of long tube headers though to make it louder and then just tune it so I can pass NYS emissions.
