I haven't changed my tires yet but am actually about to.

I am running stock 18" AMG rims and am considering the following sizes: (if anyone knows these are correct please let me know as I don't want the wrong tires)

265/35/18 in the rear
245/40/18 in the front.

These shouldn't cause issues correct? (no rubbing, etc)

Also, as for the tires OP, I am considering Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3.

Everyone on this board pretty much recommends the Michelin PSS but the tire guy said the Michelin PS A/S3 were an all seasons tire and while it doesnt quite have the grippiness of the PSS its a damn good tire and the treadwear is at 500 (vs 300 on the PSS).

So to answer your question, I don't know but would love for anyone to chime in on any of the above tires including the Pirelli P Zero Silver.

I do like the SS but they don't make the sizes I need ( 255/35/19 and 285/30/19) , may try a set of A/S 3 and see how it works out.

C63 AMG
oem size is
235/40 ZR 1895Y XL
255/35 ZR 18 94Y XL

I have PSS
245/40 ZR 18 97Y XL

with spacers F/R 12/10 mm
no rubbing

the dealer put these tires on during the CPO process
I run a bit lower pressure due to the higher load rating

i just installed A/S 3 Ys on my car. i am running 265 in the rear but OE 235 size in the front. 265s have 1/10th of an inch less tread width than 275 but 4/10 more than 255 so it was a no brainer. i got these instead of PSS because Michelin tech department told me that if i am considering driving the car in cool to cold weather, such as fall, winter or early spring in NJ, then i will have superior performance with the A/S 3. in the dry on cold pavement they said the difference between the A/S 3 and PSS would be night and day in favor of the A/S 3. i don't drive in the rain or snow or anything, but i DO take it out on nice days when it's cold so that all makes sense. also, i am maintaining the AMG alignment specs so PSS will wear much faster. yes, there is the warranty, but it still costs money and time to change them so considering Michelin said the dry performance difference is truly negligible even in the summer, i went A/S 3.

so far i love them. they are SUPER quiet. that was the most surprising thing for me. i'd say that they are a little less direct/connected than the OE Pirellis but that might be the lack of noise playing into that subjective assessment.

an interesting note is that one side of each tire (i can't remember if it's the outside or inside) of the A/S 3 fronts has a pretty damn floppy side wall. when holding the unmounted tires, there is a distinct difference between one side vs. the other. i think it's the inside side wall that is more pliable. maybe to help mounting as well??? i don't know. i guess it plays into the design. the rears were not like this though, i know that.

I have Michelin PSS and the grip is phenomenal over the stock pirellis that came with the car. I'm running 265 in the rear and 245 in the front on stock rims and suspensions with no rubbing at all even when there's passengers in the back and luggage.

The improvement in grip could also be attributed to your Michelin PSS being wider than the stock sized Pirelli P Zero tyres. I replaced my Pirelli with the same tyre but upsized to 245/40/18s and 265/35/18 as you did and also noticed a great improvement in grip.

The P Zero Silver has the same tread pattern with a different "longer wearing" rubber compound so I would assume the stock P Zero would be a stickier tyre. The Silver is more expensive too.

I have changed the rear toe setting on mine to neutral to preserve tyre life. The tyres wear better and the car feels better to drive IMO. More predictable on the twisty stuff without the snap back. Worth considering if poor tyre wear is an issue.

Tire noise

We just bought a 2010 E350 with the Perelli tires. The seem to make a hollow sound when I hit a pavement seam at 35mph or higher. I have also noticed a rubbing noise when I turn. Do you guys thing the tires are the cause?
