Brakes! (I know I could search but theres a lot of different stuff)
So I need to have work done on my brakes at 60K kms on my 2012 P31 sedan. MB quoted me $6500 to swap pads/rotors which as you all know is ridiculous.
My questions are;
1. Which pads should I get? I don't care about brake dust, only brake performance.
2. Can I get my rotors machined? Does anyone know a good place in the GTA?
3. If I need new rotors are there good aftermarket alternatives to the 2 piece rotors?
Thanks!

. . . because one day I'll need it.

vaclav, I will review my cache of forum info and possibly say more if worthwhile. I think...
One piece fronts fit, but are ?10 lbs heavier at 1/3 the cost.
Rotor turning is not advisable on these cars IMO due to grooves and that there is not a lot of usable material on the rotors.
Reusing the aluminum hat (centers) was possible on rotors from a vendor who has now gone out of business, I believe.
I am at 25K miles and have estimated about .050" material left on front, and this on daily driving by wife up and down a 2000 ft mountain. No racing

Girodisc 2 Piece Rotors paired with Girodisc S/S (Street/track) pads. Have them on my car and they are insane ! We weighed front rotors were almost 13 pounds lighter EACH and the rears 6.7 pounds lighter each ! Your talking about almost 40 pounds of unsprung and rotational mass its a night and day difference the car handles and stops much better with a small bump in acceleration. Also the pads are designed for the rotor you can gt their Magicpad which is ceramic low dusting/low noise but they wont grab and hold like the S/S pads.
FYI Girodisc used to make the EVO1 2 piece rotors for Evosport. Evosport just re branded them

The Pagids are SUPER nice and last a long time however they are $$$$ but it's worth it in the long run

2.) Sadly no you cannot have your rotors machined
3.) GiroDisc is the way to go, we have both the slotted only and slotted with Cross drills in stock... slotted only would be my suggestion as performance is your main factory and the slotted only is less prone to crack

1.) If performance is your main objective, then Endless Mx72's or ME20 (track pad that can be driven on Street), second option would be the porterfield R4-S pads.

Having just got a price on the Endless Mx72 pads which was $$$ I would hate to think what the Pagids cost.
Porterfield RS4 seems to get a good wrap for performance and are "modestly" priced. If you want cheaper pads there EBC red or step up to yellow - have used reds on other vehicles and they were OK but I would not use them on the C63.

from another forum member's rec, I went with parts.com or genuinemercedesparts.com (can't remember). i got stock pads for pretty cheap and fast, and I recall they had oem two piece rotors for pretty cheap too.
on a side note, your rotors should last a long time. of course, don't go by what the dealer tells you. they told me I needed new ones back at 30k miles, been using them ever since and I have 45k now with still more life left on them. best way to be sure is to measure them.
