2014 C 6.3 507 on order, 2008 BMW 335XI
Have a 507 on order, problem getting sedan. Advice appreciated
So I've had a deposit on a 507 sedan since mid-July and received this email chain this week. I'm pissed as you can imagine and inclined to just walk away.
Thoughts and experiences? Am I just stuck ordering a coupe if I want a 507? If I'm reading it correctly my dealer only has access to Sindelfingen plant orders.
MBUSA Sales Liaison to regional dealers:
"Hi All,
We have been informed that after the November production, the C63 Sedan is being produced in Sindelfingen, as opposed to Bremen. The change has resulted in the inability to build C63 AMG Sedan with 507 Edition package. This package is only possible if the unit is produced at the Bremen factory. Therefore, we cannot fulfill any of the C63 Sedan orders (with 507) that have been submitted. Please contact your customers and encourage them to order a Coupe instead.
We can, however, build C63 Coupe with 507 Edition package.
Please let me know if you have questions."
Kind Regards,

"I’m afraid we cannot fulfill this order. I received C63 Sedan units, but have found out that because they are being built in Sindelfingen now, they cannot be built with 507 package. This package is only available for units produced in Bremen factory. We can build a C63 Coupe with 507 edition. Would this customer be interested in a coupe?"

My dealer to me:
"I hate to send this email out so much...so sorry and sorry for the time it took...there I guess the German System works different....please see both email below, that I have just received...I have been writing them almost daily...so we can get a 2014 C 63 AMG Sedan without the 507 Edition or the 2014 C 63 AMG Coupe with the 507 Edition ...how do you feel about that....
Kind regards xxxxxxx"

C63 AMG 507 Edition
I don't know what to say, but that sucks big time. Can they source one from another dealer (ie on a showroom floor somewhere or an allocation that is already on the boat?). Audi did this for me when I bought my rs4.

I'm going to ask that question. They've offered to reduce the upcharge on a coupe to only $1400 USD over my current purchase order but I'm not keen on the coupe looks. I may do it anyway just to get the 507 pkg but haven't decided yet.

damn I'd be upset; maybe you can fish some really good discounts out of this situation, MB does hide behind the " we reserve the right to make changes" BS pretty well....
good luck Sir

Damn! You must be pissed AF! My only advice is to try and get one from another dealer, as previous people have said. That's what's happening to my dad right now (He's in the process of buying a GL63), and it's a PITA to find one in our state, and he needs it before he moves to Canada.

That sucks. There are clearly supply issues with these cars. I suspect others will be dissapointed as well. I would advise you go find one that you like and buy it. I know someone posted this link earlier, but there are still several 507 sedans here. http://www.mblynnwood.com/seattle-me...-benz-amg-cars Prhaps there is one closer to you as well.

And then I read you are in Germany!!! How is it possible that you can't get one there? WOW. Does that mean they are finished producing the 507 sedan?

507 SEDAN
I completely agree!!!
It will be a little more leg work on your part, but source one from another dealer.
I would press your dealer for then doing the work, ie., getting one that is on the boat and allocated elsewhere or them pulling one from another dealer. If they give you the business about, "We have to trade a like car for a like car", just be firm and tell them that they need to do whatever they need to do to get you a 507 sedan and let then eat any costs.
Unfortunately I feel your pain somewhat, as I was able to find one. But, I had a deposit in to my dealer in February, yes February when it was first announced. They were never able to get me one, for whatever reason. They had a lot of excuses and kept pointing the finger back at MB of Germany. Anyway, I had to go to a different city, but I found one. Had to make the deal over the phone, which I was somewhat uncomfortable with, but I got one. I just had to look at other dealerships across the country.
Good luck!! That's a terrible position and if you want the sedan, I would look for one first!!

I am in Stuttgart. There are a few Diplomatic/Military sales dealers here but they go through MBUSA to get the allocations. Pick up is done at the factory. Don't pay any sales tax and purchase at a large discount well below any deals I've seen.
- Based on the email I read from MBUSA, if you haven't got a firm allocation right now for a sedan you probably won't get one. It looks like the factory at Bremen is booked solid which is why I cannot get my allocation switched from Sindelfingen.
- I may still look at stateside dealers but it's a 20K bump in price....not sure I have to have a sedan that much.

My understanding based on the email chain is that the Bremen plant that produces the sedan 507 is booked solid and that they end production in November. So if you or your dealer doesn't have an allocation there then it is not possible to get one. Now that is my loose understanding of the MB order/allocation madness. I've never had this lack of information/oversight as I have working with MB. Audi kept me in the loop much better when I bought my S4.
