Cost To Swap Calipers
Does anyone know how much it would cost to swap a new set of calipers onto a car? Already got the calipers, but want to know whether or not it's worth doing myself. Approximately how long would it take for a mechanic to do it?

If you're just changing your calipers and not touching the bearings, you could do each wheel in 15 mins once the wheel is off the car. Depending on how you work, it could be done faster, it could be done slower, just depends on how you work. If I was doing it myself, I'd plan on it taking me about a couple hours, just so I feel better when it takes less time. It can easily be done in a few hours on a Friday or Saturday though.
It shouldn't take too long for an experienced mechanic. Expect two hours at MAX.

Cost to swap calipers
If you are talking like for like, then yes a couple of hours with a couple of beers in between. But then I wondered why would someone swap like for like?
Mostly you would want to improve on what you have already, if this is the case, then it can get a whole lot more complicated with custom mounting plates (dog bones) and the like, unless there is some one that manufactures a fitting kit (for popular upgrades perhaps).
Basically not enough information if it is not a like for like to give any reasonable advice.

If you're doing it in your garage and jacking up each wheel individually, give yourself about three to four hours including a brake fluid flush.

Yep I've done mine in about 5h taking my time to understand what to do.
I got quoted from a local shop 200$ + tax if I remember well.

is it any different doing it with the big amg brembo brakes compared to a regular car? or is the process basically the same? i'm probably going to end up doing it myself since a local shop quoted me about $525 and I didn't think it would be anywhere near that much.

Are you talking about replacing the large calipers with the same large calipers, or upgrading smaller calipers and rotors to a BBK? Two very different things...

If it's a straight swap and you're mechanically inclined, then 3 to 4 hours ought to do it including the brake fluid bleed/flush if you have a speed bleeder (otherwise it becomes a lengthier, two person job). If you flush the system, start at the wheel furthest away from the brake fluid reservoir and work your way down in order of decreasing (longest to shortest) brake line length.
