How many miles do you have on your Tuned C63, and any issues?
Hi all,
I just flashed my ECU prior to the weekend, and enjoy the extra throttle response and oomph of the car. However, I can't help but wonder what the tune is doing to the transmission/drivetrain of the car (over the long term). I'm seriously thinking about resetting it to stock.
I'm curious how many miles you guys with tunes have on your car(s), and if you've had any issues with the transmission, etc., since doing the tune?
I have a 2010 with 32000 miles. I wonder if the C63 tune simply gets the engine to the equivalent HP/TQ as the E-Class AMG cars, without sacrificing reliability?
Thanks all,
Quad

I've had long tubes/tune on my car for over 10k miles. I've had no problems other than a intake manifold gasket leak and a cracked belt. I drive my car daily also.

I have about 15k on mine with the EC v4 tune. The problem I have is the rear tires wear out quicker for some reason...lol

I bought mine with a little over 42K, I have 42.6k on it now and just tuned last week.
I only see about 4-5k miles being put on it a year, so I hope to be as lucky as you!

OP, the tranny can withstand the power. Its rated to handle 542 lb·ft (735 N·m). The rest of the drivetrain(axles, drive shaft, LSD, etc... ) can handle the extra 40ft lb tq & 50-60hp you may have got with your tune.
I wouldn't be concerned with the drivetrain. If anything, I would be concerned with detonation but as many here have tunes without a million "blown engine" threads, it seems the tunes are fairly safe.

Atleast 7500KM with a tune and beat the crap out of it the entire way only thing I've gone through is A LOT of gas and tires
It's a V8...What more do you want? Mercedes know's what their doing...sure they may not "Tune it" from the factory but hey maybe they know it can be tuned for more power and throw that in there as a little surprise...I'm sure if tuning was so bad for the car people would complain

lol... no - Mercedes isn't thowing in a little suprise. They have to de-tune the C63 to justify the cost of the E63

Thanks all! I wasn't able to stretch the car's muscles this morning. The bay area traffic on a Tuesday is horrendous!
Thinking the only thing I may do now is a cat-back exhaust (I have to keep the cats on the car due to CA law - smog tests, etc.,)
Love this car, just gotta find some open road! I honestly think it's faster than my GTO, which was tuned/cammed, etc.,
