Maintenance Plans for new purchase?
Did anyone sign up for a "maintenance plan" when they purchased their C63?
I did not and they looked at me like I had ten heads when I politely declined the pitch..
I don't know what the plan entails or even how much it cost - I just have never in the past so I didn't need the hard sell. Usually with most new cars the first service is free - ie oil change.
I also relayed to them I usually do all the maintenance on my cars myself - they then looked at me like I had no head at all....? Will this void the warranty?
I was reminded that for the LSD the oil needs to be changed/flushed at 1200 miles...my dealer is telling me that if I did not purchase this plan, they will charge me for it (but at a discount) . I was under the impression that other folks had gotten this done for free. Is there any documentation anywhere that states that so I can show them?
Thanks in advance -

I got the 3 year maintenance plan, mainly because I read that the charges for MB service are ridiculous and I didn't want to have to pay it every time. I too got the LSD and I have read it requires more maintenance so i figured it was worth it. I didn't get the wheel and tire insurance though, and I'm wondering if I should have. Did you get that? I don't take delivery until this weekend, so I should still be able to add it if it's a good deal.
I did read about some people saying the Warranty requires the minimum "Service A" to maintain the warranty, but I'm not sure if it is true. Might need to check with someone official on that to make sure.

I went ahead and purchased the plan (I forget how many years I chose). You have untill the 1850 mile LSD change is due to purchase it, so you don't have to do it immediately. I bought my car from a neighboring dealer, and then went and purchased the maintanance plan from the dealer where I will actually get it serviced. I liked the idea that I don't have to think about future costs, and my experience is that maintenance costs aren't fixed and dealers charge what they want. This way I know I've paid for it all upfront. I've heard it is a really good deal for those who lease (I don't) to get it up front as the cost is residualized so it ends up saving more $$.

Unlike the pre-paid maintanace I think the wheel insurance had to be purchased with the car and can't be added later.

They have 2, 3, 4, and 5 year plans. Here is the brocure http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...e_brochure.pdf
Prices depend on model and length (all AMG were grouped together). I think I got a 5 year plan for somewhere around $2300 - 2700. They used to be visable when you built one online, but are now listed as TBD. Here are 2009 prices which aren't that far off. http://www.mbprinceton.com/assets/pa...aintenance.pdf
There was a jump in the cost from 3 to 4 year so I'm guessing some significant maintance is due in year 4.
