Interesting to read about the increased top end the 507 has over the base C63.

Interesting that these are the first reviews, other than that one with the tall German man with glasses, that I have seen to test these cars despite me having 1500 miles on my car already. I've never been in this position. I usually read and watch reviews on cars that I am potentially purchasing. First time I have been in this unique position. Cool review nonetheless.

even though if we take into account the fact that it is an Australian review, examples (very very few though) of 507 have been driving on Australian roads for about couple of months.
still, great to see that Aussies as well as tall German bloke in glasses agree that this is an instant classic! It would be interesting to see whether Top Gear (or something similar) will be tempted to give it a more thorough review. Clarkson loves C63...

Look at what happened to the air boxer engines with Porsche or the " old Vipers" . Some guys can't give em away. It's just the way things go.

It's strange, isn't it. I've had my car in melbourne for 6-7 weeks, and have seen others at dealers, but this article suggests they are about to arrive, and on the same day another review is posted on car sales. What triggered these reviews today?

good question. especially, we we're being told, those 507 cannot be ordered anymore. Here's what i think: there will be few more 507 landing in Australia soon, so bit more visibility on the road. Whilst they still will be rare, it gives the overall boost to the current C63 range. I suspect there may be still a bunch of the standard and PP variants in dealers' hands, looking for new owners. Maybe MB is using 507 as a leverage towards the rest of the range to help dealers in selling them, ahead of 2014 model?

Some inaccuracies in the review - wheels are 19 inch not 18 inch and I do not believe the 507 comes with LSD as standard.
Also I don't reckon this will be a future classic - numbers produced are not limited.
The Black series - yes. Very limited production and just outstanding styling. I just cannot find one to purchase in Australia! And you bet if I do it will be selling for close to original price.
Could believe my eyes but the new C-class interior makes this one look dated already!

this isnt going to be a collector car so you can forget about that idea. i wouldnt consider a 507 a halfway between a black and a regular. its more like a c350 to a c300/c250.. and the black series being a c63.

time will tell. certainly i didn't buy it expecting capital appreciation, but tonnes of fun! I disagree with your comparison. whilst BS is very special, track version of AMG there is a way smaller gap between it and 507 than between any C class and its AMG incarnation (whether standard AMG, PP or 507).

Gorgeous car for sure....power to spare , great handling. Collectible? Probably initially, but like anything in the car world, it's what have you done for me lately? When the much face lifted 4.0 L TT arrives next year, the C63 and 507 will most likely soon be forgotten. New body work, AWD and similar horsepower with a new trans will do that to you.
