VIDS: 2nd Cat Delete – Straight Pipe vs H-pipe
So I changed my exhaust setup today from straight pipes to Mike’s H-pipe (powerpipe). I took two videos before and after; both videos taken from the same distance, in the same place with the same camera.
I had one hiccup during the install though – it turned out that both of my primary cats were detached/broken it two pieces and they were only held by 3 screws I have never seen anything like it. The guys at the exhaust shop welded the cats and told me that if I don't get any CEL then it should be all good.
I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or the broken primary cats made the car slower or Mike’s H-pipe is better than my previous setup, but the car feels much much faster, especially in the lower RPM. It pulls much stronger from 2000rpm.
As to the sound, I think straight pipes sound better than a H-pipe but I am happy I made the change, because I got really bored with the straight pipe sound.

Its amazing what a small little piece of pipe can do to change the sound out of this car. I found H-Pipe a good way to remove the raspiness of long tube headers

I got the exact same setup and I know what your talking about. Double straight is loud but mike's H pipe hits the spot just nice. I also noticed that after having them on for awhile the sound got a little louder and more refined. Or it might be just my imagination...lol

In your exhaust you have a 2nd cat and a resonator. The resonator has a small H-pipe built into iy.
Now by replacing your 2nd cat with either a straight pipe or H-pipe, you can change the sound.
At the moment, I have a H-pipe + stock resonator (so double H-pipe).
So I replaced my old straight pipes with Mike's H-pipe.

Yes, that's what the pipes from Mike do. There is no other way but to delete the 2nd cats and leave the resonators in place.
BTW I saw that the package was delivered today - all good?

I would say keep the resonators. If it's not loud enough for you, get rid of them then.
