I have made a backup of my 2011 Nav Update disc. Good thing I did cos a ton of my software has vapored including the original disc. Too many moves I guess. I have always believed that files aren't worth anything if they aren't in at least 3 locations so I have 2 backups, but they are different size! One is 8.12gb and one is 8.21gb.

Recently my Nav has started suggesting some weird routes and is completely devoid of POIs etc. so I want to reload.

Can anyone tell me the size of their NAV update disc? and perhaps how many files? A right click should tell you all I need to know!

I'm surprised that backup disc would even work. There is this thread on the CLS63 side with one member offering the update disc to be passed around, and the first guy after the original owner couldn't even get it to work.

it may not. I am not going to try until I figure out which is right. I aint taking no chances on making it worse. its awfully strange tho that biz with the CLS guy. Ive never heard of a "one and done" disc before. makes me wonder if the disc was a dud and he only thoughthe updated.

Wish I could help. I wonder if it can be shared or not? I was thinking of splitting a upgrade disc with my friend.

I lent my original to a buddy and to the best of my knowledge it worked for him.

It definitely can be shared. Just like letting someone borrow any other type of disc to load into iTunes.
